In 1960, Mr. & Mrs.(Mr.) Walter Fenton donated $10,000 towards construction of North Stadium Drive south of Highway 1 inEscondido which would become home field for The California Aztecs football team during their inaugural season (1962). As part of their donation they also provided naming rights to North Stadium for 10 years starting from 1962-1990 inclusive It has since been renamed after them as Walter Fenton Stadium . It is now known as University Ave Stadium
