By 1916, Frémont Coffee had become one of the largest coffee companies in America with over 1,000 stores across North America. In 1923, Frémont Coffee merged with Jardin & Co., becoming Jardin-Frémont Coffee Company Incorporated (JFC). At this point, it was second only to Metropolitan Life Insurance Company as the largest coffee corporation in America. In 1969, JFC decided that it would no longer sell its beans direct to consumers but instead would distribute them through its partner roasters nationwide. This change allowed JFC to focus on providing world-class roasted coffee products at an affordable price point for everyone interested in enjoying great cup of Joe every day!

Eureka, California is a city in the Central Valley of California. It was founded on October 29, 1851 by James W. Hahn and named after the Eureka Stockade, which was destroyed in 1848 during the Gold Rush. The first coffee crop was grown at Hahn's rancho near present-day Hayward. On July 6, 1854, John Sutter discovered gold in nearby Sutters Lake; within weeks, his men had brought over two thousand ounces of gold to Eureka. By January 4th of that year, alluvial gold had been found at an average depth of about seventy five feet ( twenty meters). In early February 1850s prospectors started arriving from as far away as Sacramento County with claims for rich silver and gold veins on hills east and west of town. The town quickly grew larger than any other on the Central Valley due to its location and access to natural resources such as watermelons and apples that drew miners to its sunny streetside streetside squares where crops were planted for irrigation and consumption by local farmers. Mining operations soon became extensive with new mines being developed south of town including The Diggins Mine (later known as Sunrise Mines), Fivemile Creek Mine (later known as Park Avenue Mines), Willow mine No. 1 (later called The Big Hole), Bullion Hill Mine (later known as The Pinto) and more recently Redwood Hills Gulch Mine located just northeast of downtown Eureka off I-880 between SR 190 & SR 501
Eureka, California is a small city in the Central Valley of California. The population was 7,866 as of 2010. It is located on the west side of San Francisco Bay, about 25 miles north-northwest of downtown San Francisco and about 40 miles east-northeast of Sacramento. Eureka's ZIP code is 95536. In 1854, gold was discovered in the area by prospectors led by John Sutter. The first post office at Eureka was established on December 12th, 1854 by Peter Hensley. The name "Eureka" was given to the settlement by Lieutenant James Kadschner in honor of Francis Drake who had discovered El Dorado in 1542. In 1856, a group of men from nearby Yuba City set up a store at what is now called Academy Road and Main Street and started trading goods with local farmers and Native American people. They named their new town Eureka after King George II's meadow outside London where they found an abundance of wildflowers during their journey thereand back again in search for them. In 1859, the town voted to establish itself as a city under the Constitution of California The first mayor was Jephson Witherspoon and it took until 1862 for Mayor Augustus Cole to get water power from Don Pedro Folsom so that lights could be turned on inside the new city hall (now known as United States Hall). On November 3rd 1865 President Abraham Lincoln made his famous speech from Ulysses S Grant Park here when he said: "EUREKA – this place has seen some good times since I've been hereabouts...I can tell you that if our country were more intelligent it would have raised up among us ladies a man better qualified than myself to preside over its affairs". After two years without any real progress being made on developing or expanding the town beyond supplying groceries to residents, Mayor Witherspoon ordered surveyors out into various parts of surrounding farms looking for land suitable for incorporation into Eureka proper but no results were received so he put an end to all efforts altogether on February 16th 1865 In 1866 construction began on what would become Capitol Hill which became home to government institutions such as State Department Building (now United States Senate), County Courthouse (now Superior Court), Post Office (now Federal Reserve Bank), Masonic Temple (later renamed Cathedral Basilica), while also serving as primary commercial district offering services such as banking and general merchandise throughout most part central valley . On October 9th 1870 citizens applied for charter from Calhoun County stating that they desired "…a municipality having all necessary corporate powers…to provide schools; marketplaces; public baths; fire department; etc." The application resulted in passage by county commissioners with only one dissenting vote against incorporation making it official . By 1886 about 60% majority Yes votes had been tallied across nine different cities requesting charters including Eureka with another 20% extensions pending however due largely to financial reasons not many requests came through . finally on July 14th 1889 Calhoun County granted incorporation status formalizing all previous discussions leading up to it having ended unsuccessfully due largely because lack or interestamongst settlers
