The United States Air Force gift history in Farmersville, California began on December 1, 1941 with the creation of theAAF. At that time there were only two fighter squadrons in the United States Air Force- the Ninth and Tenth Flights. The Ninth was activated on December 1st at Morro Bay Naval Air Station, California. The Tenth was activated at Edwards AFB, CA on February 16th 1942 and became operational as a bomber squadron. On September 15th 1941, Colonel Harry E. Laughlin assumed command of both Squadrons and they were redesignated as Fighter Command #2 (Air Defense) at nearby Sacramento Army Air Field. This was also when Fighter Command #2 was given control over all American fighter production facilities within the USAAF and all future USAF aircraft would be produced under this command alone. In late 1942 both squadrons were relocated to Alamogordo Army Air Field New Mexico for basic training before being reassigned again to their new commands in early 1943; however it wasn’t until mid-1943 that they actually received their first American fighters which were A4M3 “Panther” bombers from Consolidated Aircraft Corporation. These planes had been acquired by Third Wing base commander colonel James Biddle who allocated them to Fighter Squadron 11 (VS11), which he commanded from Alamogordo AFB New Mexico during most of 1943 while his unit underwent final Training then deployed to North Africa where they participated in Operation Torch Advanced Landing Ground operations against Axis forces on October 4th 1943 prior to withdrawing back home towards Spain some weeks later after successfully repelling an attempted German landing attempt near Melilla Beach on November 10th 1943). Fighter Squadron 11 returned stateside April 1944 after completing their Deployment phase and becoming part of Ninth Wing at Wright Patterson AFB Ohio; however upon its activation VS11 disbanded due to lack of combat activity or attrition so its pilots/bombardiers absorbed into other units or returned home where they continued flying with other air forces throughout World War II including flying mission over Japan during 1945 when SAC establishment occurred; finally by 1948 all remaining squadron personnel had retired from active duty USAF following Korean War service) Thereafter through most of 1946 Seventh wing replaced Ninth wing at Wright Patterson AFB Ohio which also served as ground support elements for Tactical Bomber Command during this time period with last Eighth Wing detachment stationed at RAF Fairford UK between 1957-1959 although due to budget cuts USAFactivity diminished somewhat untilactivated effective Sept 1959). However beginning Jan 1960 First Wing moved back down here bringing reactivated Fifth wing here followed by Second wing coming here Aug 1960 although these wings saw little action because missiles became more important especially since Vietnam War started Currently Fourth wing is located here supporting NATO military operations in Afghanistan while First Wing remains inactive pending possible reactivation.) With the end of World War II American fighter production transitioned from WWII era Curtiss P-40s into newer F-86s/A Sabres Series III designating these aircraft as "Air National Guard" modelsalthough many remained active until converted or scrapped later such as veteran pilot Major General Noel Kappelhof who flew one example around Stockton CA until his death in 1984) even though availability decreased starting about 1950 AAF Hornets gradually replaced these older jets but never fully replaced them until now.) Although designed primarily for aerial reconnaissance missions "Soaring Tigers" helped contribute significantly To strategic bombing campaigns over Europe during WWII) . Today's Active Duty USAF's 433rd Operations Group continues efforts against terrorism using Tornado RDAs .)

Farmersville was founded in 1847 by James and Nancy Farmer. The town served as the county seat for Kern County from 1853 to 1907. The Agricultural Company of California, a land investment company, bought 1,000 acres of Rancho San Bernardino land in 1854 and plat its original townsite on this property. On May 12, 1855, the first post office was established at Farmersville with five male subscribers. By 1860, there were twenty-five residents in the town. In 1865, agricultural products began to become important to local economies and farmers relocated from throughout California toestablishing businesses in Farmersville. By 1870, the population had grown to ninety-six people and by 1880 it had reached one hundred thirty-six people. From 1886 until 1895, farmers engaged in stagecoach travel between Los Angeles and Stockton on their way back laden with produce for inclusion in local markets. In 1897, due to a drought that struck various parts of California during that year, the Agricultural Company went into receivership. The townspeople organized themselves into a cooperative society known as the "Farmers' League" under leadership of banker Atherton Waringham and built a new schoolhouse which they used as their headquarters until 1968 when it became Ivey Hall School District#1's administrative offices. In 1908 Charles Fenton purchased eighty acres adjacent to what is now downtown Farmersville from George Hinton for $2 per acre (the same price paid by Hinton six years earlier). Fenton developed his site into what is now North State Boulevard which he named after his father who died young while farming near Fresno prior to moving westward along this route in search of better soils for his family's farm operation; North State Boulevard would be later renamed Streetsboro Avenue after Streetsboro Township voters enacted an ordinance naming streets after prominent citizens located within its boundaries). The city of Kingsburg was founded east of present day Downtown Farmersville on November 3rd 1914 by Ulysses Swayne Kappler with help from other entrepreneurs including Edward Cope who organized Kingsburg's incorporation as a city on December 15th 1915 effective January 1st 1916 following passage of a state law providing for such an event; Kappler was elected Mayoralty Pro Tem that year becoming Highland Park’s first Mayor since 1900 Kingsburg experienced rapid growth during World War II as many farms were requisitioned by military forces stationed throughout Southern California; due largely tothis phenomenon many storefronts lining North State Boulevard were converted into army barracks housing more than three thousand men duringWWII In 1951 City Manager Harry Naylor merged Cities Of Kingsburg And Highland Park To form one municipality effective February 1st 1952 NamedafterUlyssesSwayneKappler mayoralty pro tem that year
Farmersville was founded in 1851 by John and Julia Farmer. The family operated a farm until 1916, when they sold it to the United States Government. In 1951, the United States Government transferred ownership of the farm to the City of Farmersville. The city renamed the farm as Veterans Park in 1984.
