The United States Army was first deployed in California in 1846. The soldiers were sent to help secure the state from Mexico. In 1850, the army moved to Farmersville, California as part of General Grant's push into Oregon. The garrison at Farmersville helped protect the town from raiders and bandits. The troops also brewed beer for local consumption and prepared food for military purposes. In 1865, the army withdrew from California and returned home. America's Second Civil War began there a few miles away in Sacramento County. Troops were called back to Farmersville when war broke out in 1861. They manned the defenses of the town until 1865, when they left again for good. By this time, farmers had started using horses instead of carts to deliver goods to their homes and businesses. This change led to an increase in crime in the town because robbers could no longer steal goods without being detected or reported back to authorities. The army returned briefly in 1882-1883 before withdrawing once again permanently that year. The last Americans stationed at Farmersville were discharged on November 2, 1923 by order of President Warren G Hardingarlick. As a result of its Military Occupation during World War II, it served as an airfield for many years before finally closing its doors forever on October 25th, 1987 due to budget cuts affecting all federal agencies nationwide!

Farmersville is a small town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 1,874 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bakersfield–Fremont Metropolitan Statistical Area. The name "Farmersville" comes from the Spanish word "cuerpo de tierra," meaning land body or tract of ground. In 1848, Charles Fenton and his brother-in-law George Waddell bought 5,000 acres (20 km2) of land in present-day Farmersville from James Irvine for $5 per acre. After William Hudgins arrived in 1853 and began to farm there, the name changed to Hudgins Valley after him. The first post office at Farmersville was established in 1855; it was renamed Ranchesburg in 1865 because it had been granted by Governor Manuel Michelin as a rest stop on his journey through Kern County. A school was first organized in 1868 and named after Mrs. Hester Muhlenberg; it became known as Farmersville School District No. 2 when that district was created effective January 1, 1870. A store opened at Farmersvillegt on November 10, 1889 by John Lamberton and operated until 1896 when he sold his interest to Elisha Morse Sr., who continued it until 1903 when it closed due to bankruptcy within months of its opening due to a lack of business revenue from goods that were becoming more expensive with each passing year since World War I ended inflationary pressures elsewhere On February 14, 1954 an earthquake struck Kern County near Vernon while farmers were out planting potatoes; all crops were destroyed except spinach which prospered because plants are grown close together during early growth stages). Prior to this event local newspapers reported that some people felt an earth tremor but no damage occurred In 1958 the village of Farmervillegt merged into nearby Bakersfield with both towns having a combined population of about 1230 residents In 2002 Farmersvillegt voters passed a measure allowing for open space farming within their borders which has led to increased production values for their produce such as over $1 million worth of flowers being produced last year alone

It is home to a few hundred residents and has a rich history that dates back over 100 years. One of the earliest settlers in Farmersville was John Fenton who arrived in 1847. He and his wife, Rebecca, started a farm that would grow into one of the largest and most successful farms in the area. John’s sons became involved in farming as well, and their families continue to operate properties today. One of John Fenton’s sons, George W., founded another large farm near Mechanicsburg which he named after his father-in-law, James Hutton. The Hutton farm continues to be operated by descendants today. The Agricultural Society of America (ASA) was formed here in 1850 by five local farmers who wanted to improve agricultural conditions around hereabouts. They pooled their resources and set up a store where they sold goods such as seed, tools, livestock, etc., from their barns and fields. In 1854, ASA made contact with other societies throughout America and formed an international organization known as World Agriculture Congress (WAC). This conference brought together representatives from all over the world to discuss topics important to agriculture including food production methods and marketing techniques. ASA also organized exhibitions showcasing new products from different countries at various locations around town before selling them back home on Saturday mornings during Lent time! By 1870, there were more than 150 people living within walking distance of Farmersville – making it one of the most densely populated towns west of San Francisco at that time! The population grew steadily through the late 1800s until it peaked around 1910 when it reached 650 residents! After that point things began slowly declining until reaching current levels only about 30 years ago! During this period there were several key events that shaped Farmervilie’s future: In 1916 two brothers named Harry & Lester Dickinson bought land east of town from pioneer ranchers Edwin & Jennie Sutter for $10 per acre; this land later became known as North Parkland . They quickly turned this valuable piece of property into a major agricultural center with some 5500 acres cultivated between 1916-1964 . At its peak North Parkland had more than 1 million chickens , 5000 pigs , 7000 cows & 25000 horses ! This impressive crop rotation system allowed them to get ridof over 50%of all our net annual inputs !! By 1964 they had developed 9 other major crops including fruits (apples), vegetables (carrots/turnips), fruits/veggies hybrids (pumpkin patches), corn (maize), sorghum(rice&beans), rams(grazing) & dairy cattle (!)) . From these beginnings we have come -thankfully -to where we are today !!
