Farmersville is a town in Kern County, California, United States. The population was 9,859 at the 2010 census. The name of the town comes from early American settlers who named it after their father's farm, "Farming Valley". Farmersville is located in the southeast corner of Kern County and includes most of the towns of Bakersfield and Delano. The first settler in Farmersville was James Hargrave, who arrived on July 15, 1847. He built a cabin on what is now State Route 99W just east of the current intersection of Highway 99E and Foothill Boulevard. In 1850, John Waring came to Farmersville from Oregon with his family and began farming land around present-day Bakersfield. Waring named his settlement after his father's farm in Farming Valley, also called Farming Valley at that time. In 1852, Jacob Dennison moved to Farmersville from Stockton and started a grain business which would later become known as Dennison & Co.. Dennison became one of the largest farmers in Kern County and operated over 100 businesses including grain mills and feed stores before he died in 1903. In 1878, petitioners organized what would become known as the Kern Agricultural Society to promote agriculture within Kern County by organizing meetings and promoting irrigation systems. The society changed its name to the Kern County Agricultural Federation in 1912 due to pressure from local commercial interests that wanted to see agricultural production increase statewide rather than focus on specific counties within California The First Amendment To The United States Constitution granted citizens OF ALL STATES THE RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE AND TO PETITION THE GOVERNMENT FOR A LEGISLATURE AND FOR IMPROVEMENT IN THE LAW OF POSSESSIONS AND ADMINISTRATION

Farmersville is a small town located in Contra Costa County, California. It was founded by George and Mary Farmer in 1868. The Farmersville post office was first established in 1870. The current courthouse was built in 1911. The Farmingtons were the original settlers of Farmersville. They arrived on October 25, 1868, from Waltham, Massachusetts with their children John and Elizabeth (Cowdery). George Farmer had been married to Sarah Ann Peake for thirteen years before she died in 1857. After her death, he married Maria Ladd and they moved to Farmersville with their two children: James (1859-1936) and Esther (1862-1944). Their second son Edward Everett "Eddie" Farmer (1866-1950) also became a farmer after leaving college to take over the family business. George Farmer died in 1909 at the age of ninety-six years old. He is buried beside his wife Maria at Mount Hope Cemetery within the town limits of Farmersville. His six daughters are also buried there: Martha Cook (baptized January 20, 1865), Anna Cook Griggs (March 14, 1865 – May 3, 1965), Agnes Sprague McKnight (May 5, 1867 – November 2, 1944), Margaret Emma Greenspun Beechum (November 10th 1949), Helen Faye Huggins(December 12th 1951) and Ida Georgia Beechum(January 21st 1956). Mary Jane Welch took over as manager of the Improvement Company during George Farmer's lifetime and continued that role until her retirement in 1921 when it was turned over to her daughter Alma Welch who ran it until her death in 1957. Alma passed it on to her granddaughter Virginia Woolf Snively who ran it until its sale to the ARMOR Corporation which leased it back to the Town of Farmersville on July 1st 1969 effective January 1st 1970 after which time it reverted back into agricultural hands once again becoming known as “Farmersvilletown”."
