In the early 1800s, Farmersville was a small farming community in Kern County, California. The town was founded by George Armstrong Capps and his wife, Mary Capps. They named their farm after their father-in-law, Abel G. Evans. The couple started a small coffee business in 1872. The first roastery in Farmersville was built by John McNamara and his brother Michael McNamara in 1879. It operated out of a barn on the edge of town. In 1902, Harry Kapp opened the first gourmet coffee shop in the area when he purchased the McNamara Coffee House from John McNamara. By 1930, farmers had developed an interest in coffee and began to build their own roasters and cafes across Kern County. One such cafe was The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf located at 5555 Midway Rd., which served as a local attraction for tourists throughout the 1920s and 1930s. In 1937, Harry Kapp passed away and his son Sam took over operations at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf until its closure in 1984. In that year, Sam sold the business to Joe Donato who operated it until 2000 when it reopened as Starbucks Coffee Corporation with Farmer’sville resident Tom Peet as its president/founder (pictured). Farmersville was founded in 1887 by John Fenton, a farmer and entrepreneur. The town grew as a result of its location on the banks of the San Joaquin River. Fenton developed an early coffee trade and started selling coffee to local businesses and residents. In 1905, he donated land to the town for a park that still exists today. Today, Farmersville is known for its wide variety of produce, including grapes, apples, olives, eggs, cheese and poultry.

It is located in the East Bay region of Oakland and has a strong agricultural history dating back to the early 1800s. Farmersville is known for its fertile soil, which contributes to its high level of agriculture production. The Harney family originated from what is now Farmersville in 1853. George Harney was one of eight children born to John and Mary (Haley)Harney. In 1872, when George’s father died, he inherited his land and titles as well as $10 per acre ($100 in current dollars). On July 1, 1872, farmers from all over Northern California gathered at George’s farmstead for the first time to celebrate his victory over an irrigation ditch built by rival farmers near Antioch. From this point on, farming would be central to Harney life and work – he would own or lease more than one hundred acres (40 square kilometers) of farmland throughout his career as a farmer. As Farming became more important to the Harneys and their successors, it increasingly took on a local character; services were provided by family members rather than hired professionals until the onset of World War II when government-mandated tractor production made large-scale farming impossible without mechanization. The village store opened in 1916 and soon became a major source of food for locals and visitors alike; today it continues operation as a museum open year-round with exhibits about local history and culture. In 1940 Isaac Warner founded Warner Bros., one of Hollywood’s most significant film studios;today it remains one of America’s most important studios with annual revenues exceeding $2 billion
The history of coffee goes back to the ancient Egyptians. The first evidence of coffee being brewed is from 3,500 BC. Coffee beans were ground and used as an additive in coffee pouches and cups that were given to military officers and officials as a drink for refreshment. In 1154 AD, the Arabs began trading with India and discovered coffee beans there. They brought the beans back to Arabia where they started brewing their own espresso machines. Coffee was also drunk by Muslims during prayers to keep them healthy and happy. In 1795, Dutch traders discovered Java (now Indonesia) while sailing through the Asia-Pacific region on their way to China. When they landed, they found black pepper growing abundantly on the island. In order to find a market for this new product, the Dutch set up trading posts in Java and soon began importing Indonesian coffee into Holland. Jakarta (then known as Batavia) became the center of world coffee trade because it had a large population and good transportation links. In 1810, java beans were introduced into Germany by Baron von Steuben who was looking for a new source of revenue after losing his monopoly on tea production in England. German brewers quickly adopted java as their mainstay brew because it was easier to produce than other coffees at that time. By 1830, all major European powers had some form of java brewing going on – including Great Britain – which helped make it one of the most popular beverages ever consumed

This growth has come primarily throughamehtropical agriculture - which has led to increased local sales and production of goods such as vegetables, fruits, meat, eggs and dairy products. Additionally, locals have developed successful businesses within the local economy - including two grocery stores and one restaurant. In addition to its current success story, Farmersville also boasts a rich history that can be traced back more than 150 years. For much of its history, Farmersville was known as a rural community located near water resources such as rivers and reservoirs. The first settlers arrived here in 1876 when they came west on horseback following the Gold Rush . They found fertile land that allowed them to grow crops such as wheat and potatoes . Afterward , many other families followed suit ; these pioneers built homes around dams that supplied water for their gardens and livestock . These days , many descendants of those early settlers live in or near Farmersville - making it one of Californias most vibrant communities

In 1916, Farmingdale Electric Cooperative was founded in Farmersville by a group of entrepreneur businessmen from New York City. The cooperative became one of the most important electric companies throughout California during its early years. During World War II, Farmsville was home to many military personnel who lived and worked near the local airfield. This allowed for easy access to food that could be used for soldiers when they needed it most.
