The brothers were known for their fresh ingredients and innovative approaches to food service. They also popularizedrameradish sauce as their signature dish at their restaurants throughout San Francisco Bay Area. In 1963, Donatella Luongo started her own espresso house called La Luongo Coffee Company within walking distance of her home on Valencia Street in Fillmore. She served organic milk products and made her own espresso drinks using only natural flavorsings and extracts from fruit trees grown near her home. Her coffee beans were roasted by hand each morning on site before being trucked to her cafe for processing that afternoon. La Luongo Coffee Company continues to serve delicious espresso beverages today!

The post office closed in 1876, but the community continued to grow rapidly thanks to its proximity to San Francisco and the natural beauty of nearby hills and valleys. It was originally known as the Masonic Temple, but it became popularly known as the Fillmore in honor of its location on Fillmore Street in San Francisco. The building served as a concert hall and movie theater until it was destroyed by fire in 1966. The Fillmore is now used as a park.
