In 1969, Bob's began to sell pods for purchase which allowed customers to try different coffees before purchasing them. In 1978, Donnybrook Coffee opened up shop in Fillmore and quickly became known as one of the most popular small batch coffee shops in town. Over time they added additional roasted beans to their range as well as providing customer service that is still top notch today. Fillmore is a small town in San Joaquin County, California, about 20 miles south of Fresno on I-5. The population was 3,816 at the 2010 census. It lies within the East Bay Regional District of Contra Costa County. The Fillmore area was first used for grazing animals and then as part of the Rancho Cuchuma Mexican land grant. John Fenton bought the rancho in 1853 and started to build a sawmill there. In 1867 he sold it to James Wolkentin who built a hotel there in 1868 with help from his brother-in-law Samuel Seymour. The hotel became known as the Fillmore Hotel and Casino which continued to be one of the most popular tourist destinations in Contra Costa County until it closed its doors in 2001. In 1915 Fillmore became an incorporated town when some residents banded together to stop local water rights being taken away by nearby cities like Martinez and Hercules (now Hayward). A new water system was built and named after Fillmore's founder, Harry Blackmun, which served the town until it stopped operations in 2000. A post office operated at Fillmore from 1896 until 1934; it was renamed Westmorland during that time. The first ZIP code for Fillmore was 94536 before that changed to 95509 in 1974 due to its location within Contra Costa County's newly formed East Bay Regional District

In 1852, Fillmore became an Augustana College (later UC Berkeley) campus when it was purchased by the Augustana Board of Trustees from the Bishopric of San Francisco. The college used its funds to build two buildings on campus: one building housed the school’s library and another served as an original dormitory for students. In 1865, Fillmore was renamed State University of California at Los Angeles (SUCAL). In 1901, SUCAL merged with UCLA to form what is now known as UCLA Bruins Fillmore remained an important community center until about 1960 when it began to decline in importance due to development on surrounding farms and ranches. However, some people have maintained that there is still something special about town because it has been preserved relatively untouched since its heyday
The Fillmore Auditorium was a concert hall in San Francisco, California, used by major American rock and roll bands from the 1940s through the 1960s. It opened on May 27, 1944, as the San Francisco War Memorial Auditorium and served as both a venue for concerts and a hospital during World War II. The Fillmore was renamed the Fillmore Auditorium on October 15, 1951 after then-Governor of California McCarthy's request. The building hosted many famous concerts including The Beatles' first live performance at the auditorium on November 15, 1964. In 1966 it became home to The Grateful Dead before they moved to Starwood in 1978. It closed in 1990 after failing multiple times to meet City Hall's $30 million restoration budget.
