In the early 1900s, when Folsom was first settled, it was a small town with no air force. However, over time the Air Force began to be stationed in and around Folsom. In 1912, the first bomber squadron was stationed at nearby Davis-Monthan AFB. By World War II, Folsom had become an important airbase for the Air Force and it housed one of America's first jet aircraft squadrons. The base also played host to precision bombing campaigns during the Vietnam War. In recent years Folsom has seen a resurgence in its role as a military center; it is home to multiple Army and Marine brigades as well as two USAF fighter wings. Today, Folsom is home to three United States Air Forces units: The 9th Mountain Division (based at Fort Carson), NinthAir Wing (based at Beale AFB), and 10th Mountain Division (based at Waco). These units are responsible for providinglift capabilities throughout Southwest Colorado and portions of Southern Utah and Northern Arizona. Additionally, there is an Air National Guard unit located here that provides support to both local law enforcement and search-and-rescue missions in addition to providing security for area airports. 1/2 mile from downtown Folsom is where you'll find the now defunct Gannett Field which served as America's primary airfield for bombers during World War II before being replaced by Davis-Monthan AFB . As part of Project Maven – which aims to improve airspace security across North America – Gannett Field will serve as a training ground for UH-60 Blackhawks flown by NORAD personnel until 2020 . It should be noted that although Gannett Field no longer exists physically speaking, its memories live on through many artifacts associated with it such as hangars used by Bomber Command during their wartime missions . Today you can visit these buildings on foot or take a tour from your car! Although most people know about bombers like Boeing 747s or Douglas DC-8s parked outside of Davis-Monthan AFB today, what few know about this community's history goes much further back! Ouriland AFB (later known as West Coast AAF) once stood right next door to what is now City Hall park - serving not only as General Headquarters but also housing various operations branch barracks including Communications Branch HQ USAAF while also hosting storage areas for military hardware donated by businesses all over California during WW2 Please see attached photo slideshow of some interesting WWII era events taking place near our current location!

In 1910, when Hollywood began expanding rapidly into eastern Los Angeles County, many people chose to move to new towns near the county line in an effort to escape Torrance's booming business climate; some of these towns became parts of Hollywood while others were absorbed into neighboring municipalities such as Westwood (now Rosie) or Hermosa Beach (now Long Beach). One result of this migration was that Folsom lost much of its original growth potential because it lay within then- incorporated Pasadena. However, development has occurred around Interstate 5 and nearby La Brea Avenue since then – including new neighborhoods such as Highland Park and Echo Park – making Folsom one of the most liveable cities in Southern California
