Folsom, California is home to the first coffee roasters in the state. In 1892, Folsom Coffee Roasters was founded by Charles Folsom and his brother-in-law, Harry Warner. The brothers started a small business growing coffee beans in their barn on Folsom Street in downtown Folsom. By the early 1920s, they had made enough money to open a store on First Street in nearby Sacramento. In 1925, they started selling whole bean coffee through mail order. By 1928, they were manufacturing their own beans and exporting them to other states. They continued to produce quality coffee until 1990 when they closed their doors for good.

Folsom, California is a city in Fresno County, California, United States. The population was 568 at the 2010 Census. Folsom was founded in 1879 by chief justice of the California Supreme Court John W. Folsom and his wife Sarah A. Folsom as a town on the banks of the San Joaquin River. It grew rapidly due to its location near what was then called "the Gold Rush" and its proximity to new gold mines and ranches. In 1887, Folsom became an incorporated city under the name of "Fresno". The city's growth continued through World War II as wartime production increased employment in aluminum products for aircraft manufacturers such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin; post-war growth has been driven by suburban housing developments and agricultural land development. The City Council approved annexation of portions of neighboring Lodi on December 1, 1966; this action created a combined population of over 2 million people within just a few years. Today, downtown Folsom retains some historic buildings including the State Capitol building (1881), which is now used as part of Fresno State University's main campus; while other structures have been replaced or vacated over time including most notably Grove Hall (1920) which served as home to many local newspapers until they were taken down in 2006 due to fire code violations
