In 1947, the United States Air Force deployed its first gift to Fontana, California in an effort to commemorate the city's hosting of the 1946 Summer Olympics. In Fontana, California, the Army Reserve's 5th Battalion, The Infantry Regiment deployed a gift history in honor of its members who have served in Iraq and Afghanistan. The battalion's regimental commander, Maj.Gen. Debra J. Kappenbarger said that the battalion had collected more than 1,500 items from soldiers in both wars and was now assembling them into a display case to honor their service. "Our Soldiers have given so much to us and we want to express our appreciation through this donation," Kappenbarger said. "This is not just an act of love but also a sign of respect for our Soldiers."
Fontana is a small city located in Kern County, California. The population was 12,871 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Bakersfield–Madera, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fontana is known for its agricultural products and wines. The town has a rich history dating back to 1872 when it was founded by brothers John and George Fontana on land that now includes the current city of Fontana and parts of Bakersfield and Tulare Counties. The first permanent settler in what would become Fontana was John Fontana who arrived in 1872 from New York City with his family. He built a cabin on a bend in the river near present day Interstate 15 and named his new community after himself, fontANA (pronounced "FONTANA"). In 1880, George Fontana moved his family to what would become downtown Fontana and opened a general store which became one of the most important businesses in town until it closed its doors in1966 due to difficulties during the Great Depression. In 1926, another brother, Harry Elmer Wickersham arrived from Fresno with his wife and two children to establish what would become Wickersham Fruit Company which still operates today as one of Kern County's major employers. During World War II much of the local produce was requisitioned for military use but nonetheless many fruits were produced including apples which became famous throughout America during that time as well as today thanks to their popularity among chefs worldwide. Downtown business activity began expanding again following World War II with construction beginning on several large projects including an armory designed by architect Wiley Martin which remains operational today as One Center Square; an airplane hangar/manufacturing plant completed by Edsel Ford; an auto dealership; an elementary school; and finally Post Office Tower #1 (now housing various professional services). Today downtown features several restaurants, banks, stores & services including Regal Cinemas & Fitness complex - home of both Kern County's only IMAX theater (@) - extensiveorget shopping at numerous art galleries & specialty shops open year round totaling over 100 buildings!

In the early days of the United States Air Force, gift history was a relatively new concept. The first gift given to an airman in service was a Bible. In 1947, the USAF introduced its own gift history program - the enlisted men's club. This program gave servicemen access to unique gifts from civilians and members of the military community. Gifts from civilians could be anything from cigarettes to groceries to clothes. Gifts from members of the military community could include items like toys ornaments or pets. The enlisted men's club continued to grow until it became an integral part of the USAF culture in the late 1940s and into the 1950s. From then on, airmen were able to give back through their donations and support of squadron programs, tournaments, and other activities within the Air Force.
Fontana is a city in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 27,521 at the 2010 census. Fontana is located on the east bank of the San Jacinto River. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fontana were Franciscans and Missionaries from Spain in 1769. They named it Villa de los Padres (Villa of the Fathers). The City Council accepted this name on May 25, 1870. A post office called Fontana was established in 1868 and remained in operation until 1915. In 1892, John Sutter founded the town of Cottonwood near present-day Northgate Avenue and State Route 76 highway to serve his cotton farmworkers and their families. He named it Cottonwood after himself and donated land for a town center that he built on high ground east of his cotton farmhouse. On November 13, 1912, voters approved annexation by Riverside County as part of Measure T which authorized county government to annex unincorporated areas within its borders if they met certain requirements including population growth rates set by county commissioners. On January 1, 1913, Fontana became an official city with mayoralty and council members elected at-large rather than through ward representation like those today. The annexed area increased to . On July 16, 1922, when word got out about a proposed large gas pipeline running through nearby Tejon Ranchland to Chino Hills north of Los Angeles County line (the old Buena Park Road), residents responded with a campaign to stop the project because they believed it would damage their homes and violate their local laws forbidding mining operations within city limits without prior consent from city officials. The campaign resulted in passage by politicians representing both parties of a resolution opposing the gas pipeline regardless of whether or not it posed danger to residential properties bordering upon Tejon Ranchland; this event signaled an important change beginning during World War II as cities throughout Southern California began growing rapidly while Mining Operations flourished outside urban boundaries - this new trend would continue into the 21st century as suburban sprawl continued unabated despite calls for responsible development). In 1923–24 there was also some discussion about building an expressway through downtown but no progress was made due largely to lack of funds required for such a project at that time

The first hospital in town was built in 1907 by Drs. J.H. Fenton and Eminent Mullins along with other medical professionals working during World War I on behalf of United States Army Medical Forces units stationed nearby at Rosary Park Field Hospital then east side Of The Industrial District now part of west campus University Of Southern California at Los Angeles River Campus development located across street from old Post Office building This later became known as Valley Regional Medical Center which merged withUniversity Of Southern California School Of Medicine to become one large hospital functioning under one name In 1994 Valley Regional Medical Center merged with UC Irvine Health to form UCI Health which continues to operate this large hospital today
