On July 4th 1815, General James Wilkinson was given command of all military forces within New York state under order from President James K Polk - who at that time commanded all U S Army troops east of Mexico City (excluding those stationed in Florida). Wilkinson began organizing volunteer militias throughout upstate New York in anticipation of war with Mexico On November 15th 1846 President James Buchanan issued Executive Order 6105 which called for all male citizens between 21 and 50 years old across America to assemble in certain select locations and provide transportation away from home on short notice so they could serve their country if called upon during insurrection or civil disorder This order marked the beginningof what would eventually become known as "TheNationalGuard". The term "NationalGuard" wasn't used until after World War II when soldiers were re-classified as "Reserves." With this change came a new era where men were no longer drafted into service but voluntary enlistment became more common among civilians wishing to help keep their community safe during times Of Danger or Emergency

Fontana, California is a small city in the San Joaquin Valley of central California. The population was 362 at the 2010 census. It is southeast of Sacramento and northwest of Stockton. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fontana were Spanish Missionaries, who founded the Mission San Gabriel Arcángel on November 2, 1776. On October 30, 1847, part of Rancho Buena Vista Mexican land grant was acquired by John C. Frémont for $6,000 from Don José de Urquiza y Costilla y Salinas. In 1848 the town site was surveyed and named after Anthony Fontana, an American settler and member of the Board of Regents for University of California (1821-1834). In 1862 much ranching activity stopped because Generoso Bennett bought a large piece of property including most of present-day Fontana from MexicanGeneral Antonio López de Santa Anna in exchange for passage to England on an American ship captained by Commodore Perry during his famous 1859–60 tour across North America. In 1870 George Goodwin donated a water tower and cistern which still stands today on East Main Street nearoward Avenue. Goodwin also donated 4 acres (16 hectares) east side lot number 1 in present day downtown Fontana to build a public square known as Goodwin Square which served as community center until 1925 when it burned down due to fire code violations In 1875 Anson Phelps Dodge organized what became known as The Great Northern Railroad Company with tracks running through town northeast to Bakersfield then south along I-5 all the way down into Kern County where they connected with The Southern Pacific Railroad at Bakersfield then continued Northeast past Reno before finally reaching its terminus at Denver Colorado Springs westward across Union Pacific Railway tracks just south of Interstate 15 near Mexico City It should be noted that there were two other towns built adjacent to or withineasy walking distance: South Pasadena and Dayton Beach Although their histories are not as well known or widely remembered they did not achieve similar notoriety or success as Fontana
Fontana is a city in Riverside County, California, United States. The population was 382 at the 2010 census. It was founded on September 22, 1881 by Edward C. Fontana and his wife Anna Maria Fontana. After two years of construction and startup costs of $8,000, the first store opened its doors on December 1, 1881. In 1932, Fontana became part of the newly created Riverside County when it was merged from San Bernardino County. The next year saw the opening of the first airport in Southern California – Los Angeles International Airport – within the city limits. In 1949-1950 both Fontanas were elected to serve on the Board of Directors for Riverside County On October 8th 1959 during a rainstorm all power went out to most of town leaving only streetlights burning downtown which continued until October 15th when it got dark again and new lights were turned On. This event is also known as "The Night Of The long Fuse" because that's when Mayor Edwin Randolph lit up every streetlight in town with an extra 110 foot fuse
