The Fortuna Air National Guard's deployed gift history began on Dec. 15, 1941 when the unit was activated at San Diego as the response to the Pearl Harbor Attack. The 1st Bombardment Wing flew combat missions over Japan from December 1941- February 1942 and received the first U.S.AAF flight award for excellence, a Mitchell B-17 Flying Fortress victory in December of that year. In 1943, squadron headquarters relocated from San Diego to Fortuna in order to expand its operations and increase its capability to bomb Japanese targets throughout the area including Hiroshima and Nagasaki. On July 6th of that year, 1st BG became Colorado's only AAF unit awarded a campaign credit for bombing Tokyo Bay after successfully sinking four ships off Kawasaki Island duringOperation Tomahawk (the largest amphibious invasion in United States history). Throughout World War II 1stBG flew more than 2,500 sorties with an average distance flown of more than 1,000 miles per mission; they also dropped more bombs on enemy positions than any other unit in America. The aircraft used by 1stBG were: P-39 Airacobra (five different models), P-38 Lightning (eight different models), P-47 Thunderbolt (four different models), B-25 Mitchell Bomber (six different models) and B-24 Liberator/Honeywell Catalina flying boat conversions which included three types of engines each: Napier Camel engine #1 for medium bombers #2 for heavy bombers #3 for fighter groups or operational squadrons when needed; these conversions allowed wings greater range and altitude options while still maintaining their bomber appearance which helped them retain distinction against any European counterparts during this time period
Fortuna, California is a small town located in the eastern Mojave Desert. The population was 5,632 at the 2010 census. It lies on state Route 395, about midway between Reno and Las Vegas. The name "Fortuna" is thought to derive from the Latin phrase "fortuna fluminis," meaning " fortunate chance." The town was founded in 1912 by brothers Harry and Alfred Luckman. They named their town after their mother, Fortunata (née Luckman). In 1936, they sold the town to Harry Hochschild and his wife Ruth. Fortunata has been a registered nonprofit community since then. This small desert community began as an agricultural center with fruit orchards and cattle ranches that produced hay for local residents and for export to other parts of Nevada and Arizona. In 1976, Harry Hochschild donated land to become what is now known as downtown Fortuna. He also provided support for the development of education programs in downtown Fortuna as well as for cultural events such as art shows and music festivals throughout the year. In 2007, Mayor Jeff Woolery announced plans to demolish all but two buildings in downtown Fortuna in order to create a new central business district that would include more than 20 businesses including restaurants, hotels/motels, retail stores, services companies and an arena where professional sports teams could play games during off-season exhibitions or tournaments. At this time there were only six businesses in downtown Fortuna which generated less than $10 thousand per year in economic activity according to Mayor Woolery's estimate; these six businesses represented less than 1% of all economic activity within village boundaries! These plans have met with strong opposition from many citizens who feel that their livelihoods will be destroyed if downtown Fortuna is destroyed; they fear that without some form of public engagement or oversight program City Hall will continue its disregard for public opinion while disregarding concerns raised by citizens about these proposed changes

Today, the USAF employs more than 28,000 civilians and military personnel who supply vital goods and services to our allies around the world. Since its establishment in 1947, the USAF has delivered over 1 million pounds of humanitarian aid and equipment to war-torn countries throughout Southeast Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Middle East. In Fiscal Year 2016 alone, the USAF transported more than 4 million pounds of supplies and equipment to our allies worldwide. In addition to its traditional gifts such as rifles and ammunition,the USAF also provides an extensive range of festive specialties such as Christmas trees (pictured), cake decorating tools (pictured left), birthday party decorations (pictured right),and even a pair of F-16 fighter jets!

Fortuna, California is a small town located in the southern end of San Bernardino County, California. The population was 1,569 at the 2010 census. Fortuna is part of the Victorville Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1881, James Irvine built a small cabin on what is now Center Street in Fortuna and named it Irvine Ranch after his father-in-law and namesake James Irvine, who had settled in nearby Riverside County in 1859. In 1903, an irrigation canal was dug through Fortuna by local farmers to bring water from the Kern River Valley to their farmlands and ranchos north of downtown Victorville. The new town grew up around this canal system with its busy commercial district, residences for government officials and business people living near the main square or " courthouse," churches and other religious institutions, a schoolhouse (now a museum), several stores and restaurants, two hotels (now demolished), two boat docks and two tennis courts. The post office opened on October 15, 1904; it was renamed Fortuna in 1912 when it became part of Imperial County. After World War II ended in 1945, many residents moved south to join the growing population of Victorville because of job opportunities in Alhambra and Los Angeles. However during the 1970s and 1980s many residents returned home due to economic troubles within Northern California; however today many still live within walking distance of their businesses or schools
Fortuna is a small town in Sacramento County, California. The population was 1,698 at the 2010 census. Fortuna was founded by George A. Smith in 1879 as an agricultural community on the banks of the Sacramento River. In 1886, Fortuna became part of the City of Sacramento and experienced rapid growth due to its location near the state capital and other major businesses and cultural attractions. However, during the 1960s and 1970s, economic decline led to a decrease in population, although it has since bounced back In recent years, Fortuna has been home to a number of start-ups such as online education site Udacity and video game development house Local Games Workshop.
