In 1949 alone, America contributed more than $8 billion dollars (£5 billion) to global peacekeeping efforts through its International Military Education Assistance Program (IMEP). More recently, Air National Guard units have been mobilized into international operations such as Operation Neptune’s Spear (Afghanistan), Operation Enduring Freedom (Iraq), and Operation Noble Eagle (Syria). Today’s Air Force is no longer just an armadaof Planes; it is also a force that can deploy anywhere in the world at any time for any purpose!

Fortuna was founded in 1847 by John Sutter and his wife Mary. The town is located on the Sacramento River, about 25 miles east of Sacramento. It was named for the goddess Fortuna, who is considered a protectress of herds and crops. In 1850, Fortuna became part of the newly organized California Territory. In 1852, Fortuna had a population of 350 people and was incorporated as a city. The first mayor was John Waddell. In 1861, when California became an American state, Fortuna became part of the new county of Kings County. Fortuna experienced some prosperity during its early years; however, it declined after gold seekers discovered and prospected for gold in the area in 1865-1868. By 1870, most residents had left or been driven out by competition from nearby towns such as Auburn and Belmont. However, due to some good agricultural luck that year (the result of several good rainfalls), Fortuna regained some prosperity and reached its high water mark in 1880 with a population of 1,500 people. However, this period ended abruptly around 1890 because of changing economic conditions in the area during what is known as the Gold Rush era. The end result was that few people living in Fortuna remain today: only 10 families live there now (most are descendants of those who once lived there). Nevertheless, much about what madeFortuna so special has survived into our day - many things are still found here including homes built before 1860s which were typical rural American architecture at that time; local businesses like grocery stores and hotels which thrived during this time; discarded materials from earlier years such as wagon wheels still lying around - all evidence points to a busy little town that enjoyed considerable success throughout its history!

The community of Fortuna experienced growth during the early twentieth century as a result of its location on the Central Pacific Railroad's main line between Los Angeles and San Francisco. By 1922, Fortuna had a population of over 1,000 people and an agricultural economy that produced hay, apples, cattle, wheat and other crops. However, by the end of World War II, the town's population had decreased to around 100 people due to economic factors such as the collapse of the railroad network in California. In 2000, Fortuna officially became part ofjoining Santa Clara County.
