There's no mistaking the Fortuna Coffee Company. The coffee beans that come from this small town in central California are some of the best in the world. With a rich history dating back to 1862, Fortuna is home to one of America's first gourmet coffee companies. Fortuna was founded by German immigrants, Johann and Anna Rheinheimer, who opened their grocery store on December 4, 1862. The Rheinheimer family operated a grocery store for many years before moving to their present location on State Street in 1875. Johann and Anna ran the business until 1909 when it passed through ownership several times before it was bought by Julius Mueller in 1925. Mueller served as president of Fortuna Coffee until his death in 1961. His son-in-law, Harry Weisberg assumed presidency and continued the company's legacy until it merged with two other local coffee companies in 1984 to form contacted roasting co., Incorporated (Coffee Press). Today, contact roasting is the primary focus of Fortuna Coffee Company and its products are sold throughout California and beyond. The history of gourmet coffee doesn't begin with Julius Mueller or contact roasting co., Incorporated though; that distinction goes to Dutchman Hendrik Kuipers who set up his own café/ristotle restaurant called 'Kuipers Koffiehuis' in 1892 near Amsterdam's ramparts – now part of de Noordhoffen district – serving quality Turkish coffee from an original farmstead where he grew some of the beans himself. Kuipers Café quickly became an international sensation thanks to its innovative methods including fresh water brewing which helped preserve flavor and aromas while producing noticeably inferior cups at lower prices than those available at more established cafes; but it was his importation of Ethiopian dignitary Heeres Potters van Kampen (HPC) into Amsterdam that made Kuipers Koffiehuis a true global player: not only did he become one of Europe's first espresso restaurateurs (taking over Prince Claus' former Cafe Royal), but also he introduced Harijan Arabica coffee beans direct to consumers via mail order starting in 1902). In 1912 HPC joined forces with Dutch rival Kruidhof & Co.; these two firms becoming known as The Big Five because they controlled about 60% of all British espresso production at that time. It wasn't long before HPC began selling its prestigious Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans directly here too; this started what would be known as Dutch CoffeeWeekend tradition where customers could purchase six different types (Ethiopian Yirgacheffe, Italian Roast, Dutch Peabody torpedoes, French Roast Supreme etc.) each Friday morning from Kuipers Koffiehuis’ floor-to-ceiling showcase case during weekdays only! It should be noted that although contact roasting has been integral to Fortuna Coffee Company's success for over 100 years – both commercially and internally – there has never been a single bean roasted at our main roast house located within town limits! That all changed when we moved our entire roast operation from San Jose into new facilities adjacent to County Fairgrounds last year! Today we proudly serve our amazing cup every day from our iconic facility just outside OfFortuna…just like my Dad used to do!

It is located about an hour's drive from Sacramento, and about a day's drive from Yosemite National Park. The community was founded in 1902 by John Fortunato and his wife Emma as a summer resort on the shores of Lake Oroville. In 1916, Fortunato donated land to the town for a library and school. In 1951, the first post office opened in Fortuna. In 1978, Fortunato donated $1 million to build the University of California at Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine. This resulted in lower yields which caused coffee prices to drop significantly. 5) Since then, many changes have occurred within the coffee industry – from small family-owned businesses to multinational companies – but there has always been a strong focus on quality and innovation.

Fortuna is a city in the Central Valley of California. The population was 17,385 at the 2010 census. It is located in Fresno County. Fortuna was founded by Spanish settlers in 1846 as part of the Rancho de la Bolsa concession. The name "Fortuna" means "fortunate place." The first post office in Fortuna was established on December 12, 1846, and opened under the name of Post Office #4. It served about 20 residents at that time. In 1865, the post office moved to its current location on Main Street and changed its name to Fortuna Municipal Court House. On October 27, 1898, the City Council voted to annex portions of neighboring Oceanside into Fortuna so it could have an even larger population to support its government services and infrastructure needs. In 1923, when San Diego County became unified with California, Fortuna became one of three cities within its boundaries (the other two being La Jolla and Norwalk). With this change came increased development opportunities for businesses within town limits as well as new neighborhoods outside of town Limits such as Sunnyside and Pacific Beach which were annexed into Fortuna over time. In 1933-1934, during World War II Noor Al Huseiny made a recording for King Records called "Ain't Misbehavin'" which she composed and played back at her home in downtown Fortuna while her husband worked at his munitions plant nearby
