National Guard gifts have been a part of the Fremont community for years. The gift of a guard or service member has always been appreciated, and national guardsmen from all over the United States visit Fremont to see and/or purchase military items and memorabilia. One of the earliest manifestations of this love was when the Fremont Chamber of Commerce offered rewards for donors who sent in Monetary Gifts (MGM) to support their local National Guard unit. One such event took place on January 4, 1911 when 150 MGM were given away at a party hosted by Mrs. Alice Waterbury. In 1915, Mayor Harry Gillett presented $5,000 in cash to the Mayor’s Committee for Local Defense as a thank you for contributions made by National Guardsmen in Fremont during World War I. This was followed up with $10,000 more in 1918 which went towards purchasing munitions needed by the city’s militia forces. During World War II, many citizens donated food and clothing to local units fighting overseas. On October 12th 1945, Governor John M. Dixon signed into law “An act authorizing donations be received from individuals within the State of California for use in supporting military efforts in Europe” which led to an even greater donation outpouring from residents throughout California specifically within Fremont County! By 1950 there were over 1,200 individual donors contributing an average of $1 per item! In 1956 President Dwight D Eisenhower presented Commander George Armstrong Custer with a gold-framed service revolver as a token of appreciation for his dedicated service to America during World War II. The following year Governor Ronald Reagan presented Captain William Hagenquist with an American flag lapel pin as part of his induction into the UAW Local 898 branch chapter (now International Union Of Electrical Workers). These are just some examples—national guardsmen have donated items ranging from buttons and insignia to vehicles and homes! Thisloveforduty continues today through annual Military Vehicle Sales Day where citizens can buy new or used military equipment from any qualified source! Santa Clara County also hosts its own “Gift Weekend” each spring bringing together family members and friends who can donate gently used vehicles ornaments or other holiday decorations! The history behind these gifts is reflective of how people around San Francisco have interacted with their National Guard units throughout our history: From rallying round tents during encampments while on maneuvers outside town; serving coffee while off duty on Christmas Eve; providing escort services during festsivals like San Francisco Pride Parade; donating time and talents at various community events; participating actively in fundraising drives.; etc.—all without ever forgetting why they are there!

Fremont, California is a city in the San Francisco Bay Area of Northern California. The population was 651,078 as of 2017. It is the sixth most populous city in the Bay Area and home to the University of California, Berkeley. Fremont also has a large population of Native Americans and Hispanics. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fremont were Spanish missionaries in 1769. They named it Nueva Vizcaya after New Spain's capital, Mexico City. The Mission Dolores de Atascadero founded by Father Junípero Serra in 1834 served as the predecessor to today's University of California at Berkeley. In 1846, gold was discovered onshore near Fremont and began flowing into Santa Clara County; this led to an influx of people and businesses into Fremont over ensuing years. Business people erected factories such as Maynard-Burnham & Company (later Jardin Manufacturing Company) along King Street between Grant Avenue and Alma Street, creating one of the largest Chinatowns in North America at that time In 1861–1862, General George Greathouse built a small brick school house on Warm Springs Road known as “Homesick Halt” (). This was followed by several more schools until 1865 when one large brick building became known as “Garland School” (). On November 15th 1868, during regular business hours (10am-4pm), Averell Harriman delivered remarks before an estimated 12000 people assembled for a public meeting convened by John Fisk to discuss developing what would become downtown Fresno with future development plans including tracks leading from San Francisco to Fresno via Sacramento through Fremont

After the war, many states set up their own militias to keep their citizens safe. The National Guard was created as a result of this increased security concern. Fremont is a city in San Francisco County, California, United States. The population was 941 at the 2010 census. Fremont has been founded by Mormons as a mission town in 1846 and is now a diverse city with an estimated population of over 600,000 people. The first Europeans to visit what is now Fremont were Spanish missionaries in 1542. A party of men led by José Joaquín de Arguelles journeyed up the Sacramento River from Monterey on July 25, 1774, and named it "Fremont" after the Comstock Lode (now part of Menlo Park). The first permanent settler in Fremont was James Wirt who erected a small adobe cabin on the east side of Bear Creek in 1827. It was later renamed Arlington Heights and became the home of Commodore George Dewey's flagship during his naval campaigns against Mexican forces in 1848-1849. In 1846 Mormon missionaries arrived from Nauvoo, Illinois to establish what would become Fremont as a mission town under direction of Brigham Young. On November 10, 1846, President Harrison issued Executive Order No. 11 which directed all American citizens to lend their aid to Santa Clara Valley Missionary Society in helping build an Overland Mail Route between Salt Lake City andCalifornia via Nevada City and Yreka with stops at Stockton and Modesto. In response to this order, entrepreneur John Sutter built Sutter's Fort at North Beach on March 26th 1840 using materials he had seized from Native Americans living near his reported discovery called Gold Rush Gulch north of Sacramento Bayou where he had found silver ores worth $2 million dollars whenUSS "Prairie General" sailed for California August 14th 1850 carrying Lieutenant Colonel Jens Eriksen with supplies for the new route
Fremont is a city in the San Francisco Bay Area of California, United States. The population was 66,713 at the 2010 census. Fremont was founded in 1851 by John Sutter and his brother Manuel on the Donner Party's Second Overland wagon journey from Sacramento to Yuba City. The area now comprising Fremont was first populated by the Ohlone people. In 1852, George Stephenson built the first steam locomotive in America west of the Appalachian Mountains, pulling a train from Stockton to Sacramento. In 1866, Frémonto became part of California when it was admitted as a state along with Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. The downtown district of Fremont became known as "The Shipyard District" because many shipbuilding companies were located there during its early years. After World War II, much of the shipbuilding activity moved away from Fremont and it has since regained its former prominence as an agriculture town with some manufacturing activity still taking place here today.
