The Fresno Air National Guard's (AAFNG) Directorate of Specialty Programs oversees the gift history program for the Fresno Air National Guard. The Directorate administers and operates a nationwide military gifting program that distributes gifts to airmen and their families in support of their military service. The AAFNG gift history program is one of the most comprehensive in the United States Army, Navy, and Marine Corps. The program provides unique opportunities for members of the community to interact with airmen who have served our country. The AAFNG gift history program began in 1967 as an effort to bring together local businesses and individuals who supported the flying branch by donating items such as military equipment or clothing. In 1971, donation drives were started at schools throughout Fresno County in order to collect funds for missile purchases by our nation's allies. Since then, we have collected over $175 million from local businesses and individuals interested in supporting our military!

After years of economic decline due to lost manufacturing jobs during World War II and increased competition from other cities in the state, development began in earnest in the early 1970s withthe arrival of nationally respected planners such asIrving Rubin who designed what he called “a new American city” for Fresno County – one that would be visibly Latinoized while remaining affordable for all citizens regardless of background or economic status. This progressivist vision led to significant public Works projects such as Sierra Madre Park (now Chico State Park), Plaza de la Constitución (now Angel Stadium) and Ahmanson Oval (later renamed Home Depot Center). These developments helped spur growth within Fresno County while creating thousands jobs along with improving community qualityof life by increasing access to education, health care and social services. Today Fresnos economy relies heavily on science fiction production companies headquartered near downtown; however this growing industry has had no negative impact on public safety or infrastructure which continues to meet or exceed expectations set by local officials
The United States Air Force is a branch of the military of the United States. It is responsible for air defense, air mobility, and air forces in support of global operations. The USAF has served in every conflict since World War II, and its members have been involved in conflicts throughout the world.
