The Coast Guard has been providing law and order on the California coast since 1879. In Fullerton, one of the most active ports on the west coast, the Coast Guard has a rich history dating back to 1898. In 1898, The California State Legislature passed a bill that established the Coast Guard as a state agency. At first, it was only responsible for patrolling coastal waters from Point Reyes to Santa Barbara. However, in 1912, Congress passed an act that designated full-time members of the Coast Guard for patrol across all of California’s coastline – including Monterey Bay. As Californians grew restless with no federal help to keep them safe during prohibition years (1920-1925), lawmakers began looking for ways to provide more money and resources for the Coast Guard. On July 1st, 1925, Governor George Cisneros signed Senate Bill No. 5 into law which provided $2 million per year over five years for the development of new cutter programs and increased funding for existing programs such as mine detectors and air patrols along California’s coasts. This increase in funding allowed Forney Shipyards in San Diego to build two large cutters – USCGC Goodhue (1927) and CGSS Alpha (1929). These vessels were equipped with Searchlights and Depth Charges in addition to their traditional fishing gear duties; they became known as “COAST GUARD CLOSED WATER FIGHTER” vessels. With these new vessels,Fullerton began utilizing its close proximity to Marin County instead of long drives down Calco Channel or up through Central Valley rivers like earlier generations had done before them. As Fullerton became more developed during this time period & world trade started flowing through its dockside area at First Street & Harbor Boulevard – businesses started opening up around town that would sell goods related to local maritime interests such as fishing equipment rentals and boat loans/ownership counseling services. This gave rise to what is now known as "Coast Guards Alley" where many businesses cluster near each other on First Street & Harbor Boulevard throughout Fullerton today

Fullerton is a city in the San Bernardino County, California, United States. It was founded on December 29, 1879 by J.D. Fullerton and W.H. Lloyd as a small town on the south side of San Bernardino Pass between Simi Valley and Pasadena lay within present day Fullerton Rancho Niguel and part of what is now Orange County. The population was 30,059 at the 2000 census. The name "Fullerton" comes from nineteenth century Spanish explorer José Gabriel García Márquez's account of his journey through that area in 1828-29 when he named an important river after Manuel Nieto Fullerton, governor of Alta California but later executed for treason in 1851.--As full plate as I can find for this topic: In 1879, Jose Gabriel García Márquez took note of what he called “the great white City” situated on the south side of San Bernardino Pass between Simi Valley and Pasadena; it would be renamed Fullerton about 10 years later to reflect its growing importance as a center for industry and commerce.--The first businesses established in Fullerton were dry goods storekeepers John Doheny and Charles Goodyear who opened their doors in 1881; they soon became known for their high quality produce which they sold direct to consumers.-- In 1886, Antonio Luna moved his family from Durango Mexico to Southern California where he bought 160 acres (65 ha) north of Anaheim Hills Cemetery to establish what would become Anaheim Park--It wasn't until 1928 when Anaheim Stadium was built adjacent to Anaheim Park that Southern Californians began enjoyingstandard football games at local venues.--In 1906, Oriental Trading Company (later known as OCISCO) leased land east of Garden Grove Boulevard south ofamines some 2 million square feet (190 ha) including two blocks vacant lots--The company developed Waterford Farms into one of Northern California's largest agricultural production organizations with over 100 acres (40 ha), 20 miles (32 km)² total farmland used for crops such as grapes, nuts, apples, & olives)--By 1915 OCISCO had increased its acreage holdings to 460 acres (220 ha), southeast corner lot #1 yielding an annual crop yield near 50 bushels per acre (.95 kg/ha)--Between 1916-1917 OCIICO constructed a new water main system supplyingatered commercial areas including downtown Fullerton with piped water from Rancho Niguel reservoir-- In 1920 OCIICO disbanded all its features after suffering heavy losses due to World War I -- During prohibition period 1919-1927 there were many speakeasies throughout town serving various typesof alcohol such as gin tonics & bock beers
In 1821, Fullerton was founded by Matthew H. Fuller and John C. Yost as a town in the then-arid purpose-built Rancho Santa Ana deFullerton. The town's first post office opened in 1825. In 1827, it became an incorporated city under the name of "Los Angeles". The City of Los Angeles annexed Fullerton on March 15, 1947. On February 22, 1951, the City of Anaheim built a new airport to replace Orange County's full time airport (now called Anaheim Airport). The new airport served as the primary commercial center for Southern California until 2007 when Hollywood Blvd replaced it as the primary commercial center for Southern California. A major redevelopment project took place at Fullerton's downtown area starting in 2006 and finishing in 2013 which included renovation of much of the original architecture from early 20th century ranch buildings into contemporary art galleries, restaurants and nightlife venues including The Roxy Theatre and Trocadero Theatre
