It is located on the eastern edge of Anaheim Hills and shares borders with Santa Ana to the north, Fullerton to the east,Mission Viejo to the west and Laguna Beach to the south. The U.S. claimed full ownership of Californias land west of Baja California in 1848 when Congress passed an act granting citizens of all territories “full and exclusive possession”of such areas as they may choose to offer for sale or leaseholds being less than five square miles in size.
