One such trader was J.P. Richardson, who traveled throughout Southern California buying and selling Coffee beans. Richardson's business partner, George Weyerhaeuser, also became interested in coffee and started importing it from Africa. In 1912, Richardson founded the first commercial gardena roasting company in the area. The company named their product "TACO COFFEE" after J.P.'s initials - TP for Richardsons penny stock company (later part of Peet's Coffee). Taco Coffee opened its doors in 1912 and soon became one of the most successful gardena-based businesses ever established. For many years, Taco Coffee continued to serve its classic cup of Joe while also adding new flavors such as chili cheese fries, blackberry bacon jam & avocado toastwiches, etcetera. In 1979, Taco Coffee merged with another gardena-based business - Golden Nugget Cafeteria - which gave rise to the current name of Golden Nugget Cafe: Gardena's original tacocafé! Gardena, California is a small town located in Nevada County, California. The population was 1,669 at the 2010 census. Gardena is part of the Victorville Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Village of Gardena was platted on October 17, 1888 by Hiram Bingham and Wm. J. Stone as a means to encourage settlement in what were then wild and uninhabited regions of southern Nevada County. The name "Gardena" may be derived from the Spanish word "garden" meaning "place for plants." At first all that was grown here was grass and fruit trees; but soon citrus fruits became an important crop and now numerous dwellings provide housing for the citizens of Gardena and their families. Today's economy based on agriculture, manufacturing, services, tourism and education accounts for over 50% of its GDP while employment concentrations are within government agencies (national guard barracks being one), local businesses (bakery/cafeteria/phone service), nonprofit organizations (library) and education institutions such as Southern Christian Leadership Conference High School which has a student body exceeding 10% African American which helps contribute to Jr./SrHigh school diversity in this predominantly white community. In 1887 Hiram Bingham had purchased 12 acres east of present day Gardena from Juanita Cobb for $1 per acre with intent to build a new village site across the street from his previous holdings west of Adobe Trail - two years later he had acquired another 16 acres for $2 per acre adjacent to Adobe Trail which he dedicated as a public park on November 6th 1890 under the name “Hiram Bingham Park” after himself & his wife Lucy Stone & their three sons: Wm., John Cedar & James Garfield Bingham III.). A year later he donated 4 more acres adjoining Adobe Trail totaling 20 acres total making Gardena one hundred eighty-four square miles in size! In 1901 Mr. & Mrs. Horace Greeley donated 15 additional agricultural acres along with right-of-way to Butte Valley Railroad Company extending into today’s Townhome district in order to create today’s Arroyo Seco State Recreation Area! Today we enjoy access both eastbound thru Arroyo Seco Boulevard off US 95 near downtown Victorville & westbound thru Vista del Lago Boulevard just south of HWY 395! These days most people know us simply as Guttenberg town limits although back then many people thought we were part of Victorville itself! It should also be noted that during World War II much efforts were made by our Military leaders including General George Custer who resided only 2 blocks away from our main shopping center before his fateful battle at Little Bighorn grazing area becoming known as Girdwood Army Campground National Monument today... even though officially it is still within our town limits! As you can see there have been quite some changes over these 125plus year old events!!! In 1970 Ronald Reagan announced plans for Interstate 5 through central NevadaCounty creating what would become known as the Wedge corridor connecting Los Angeles with Reno via GardnaValley Airport drawing residents& businesses away from rural Nevada County!! This huge project not only destroyed much land but affected many homes, churches etc….resulting in sharp decrease in population growth rates throughout this entire valley floor!! Alas it wasn't until 2002 when voters approved Measure V funding needed to preserve these priceless cultural landmarks along I-5 Corridor… finally achieving some level equilibrium!! We continue to benefit greatly however due largely to some very creative Planning by our elected officials who recognize that without these assets we would not have any hope whatsoever of reversing recent trend!!!!!

Coffee was also used as a Currency Unit across many warring nations during this time period. By 1945, most of the world had switched over to European Union (EU) currency which led to an increase in prices for goods produced outside of those countries due to increased costs associated with currency conversion rates back then compared to today’s standards). After World War II ended, some manufacturers turned their attention towards developing new ways to produce high quality beans using sustainable practices such as roasting whole beans without grinding or packaging them into small capsules or bags; this practice is now known as direct roasted coffees (DRO). This led tothe growth of many different hippy Organizations throughout Rancho Santa Fe County including: The Flower Power Committee (1962-1966), The Green Thumbs (1966-1969), Mindful Music Foundation (1970-1972), Los Angeles County Association for Cannabis Research (1974-1976), United Cannabis Clubs International (1978-1981), Love & Peace magazine staff writer Robyn Williams (1982-1984). There are also several interesting stories associated with Gardena that are worth knowing about: For example, one story says that during World War II, Japanese soldiers burned down part of downtown Gardena while trying to escape capture by American forces. Another story tells of how local farmers banded together during drought times to purchase water rights from nearby cities so they could irrigate their crops more easily.
