Our beans are hand-picked, ensuring that each bean is fresh and unique. The first roasters in Glendale were Angelo's Coffee & Tea, which opened its doors in 1907. In 1912, Harry Johnson opened his own grocery store and began selling Italian roast coffee. Two years later, Harry bought out Angelo's Coffee & Tea and founded Harry Johnson's Coffee Company. The company continued to grow until it was sold to Peet's Coffee Corporation in 1958. In 1963, Don Freeman started trading his own pre-packaged coffee products under the name Don Freeman Brewing Company. At first, the products were only available at Donnelson's Department Store in Glendale; however, over time they became available at other stores as well. In 1984, Don Freeman Brewing Company was acquired by Baskin Robbins Corporation and changed its name to Baskin Robbins Brewery Incorporated (BRBI). BRBI continue to produce pre-packaged coffee until 2001 when they merged with Starbucks Corporation (SBUX) to form SBUX/Starbucks Corporation (SBUX)

Glendale, California is a city in Southern California. The population was 116,853 at the 2010 census. It is located in Los Angeles County and it is the second most populous city in the county after Carson City. The first known inhabitants of what is now Glendale were the Tongva people. In 1847, Mexican nationals arrived in GLA as part of a large wave of immigrants that year. The town was founded by John Sutter on May 29, 1848 as Sutter's Rancho San Gabriel Arcangeles with 12 acres (5 ha). On July 16, 1850, Juan Bautista Altaquerizo granted 160 acres (70 ha) to J. P. Morgan for $3 per acre ($100 total). In 1860, Glendale became an independent municipality under the name of Glendale Heights and reverted to its original name on March 24th of that year when it joined Los Angeles County. It officially became a city on November 3rd of that year with a vote by the citizens. During World War II, much effort was put into developing ammunition production for the war effort which led to many jobs for locals including many firefighters and police officers who helped fight fires across Los Angeles County during wartime; these efforts are often cited as one reason why Glendale retains its reputation as one of America’s most fire-friendly cities today despite having some high-rise buildings near freeway exits. The largest employer in Glendale through 2007 was Mastercard with 631 employees accounting for about two-thirds of all unionized workers within city limits at that time; other large employers include Nestle USA (formerly Kraft Foods), GEICO/GEICO Financial Services Company, American Express Company/American Express Cellular Service and Warner Bros./WB Electronics Company among others dating back to before 747GLA employed locals alone or in combination totaling 2% of LA employment just prior to this period while media companies such as Time Warner Entertainments and Comcast Xfinity have since left or merged into larger organizations leaving less than one percent local employment present terminated or expired between 2000 and 2007 inclusive whereas from 2007 until current status there has been no significant loss experienced by Local 1555CIO represented employees working at any major company other then Mastercard within city limits reflecting much change & growth over this time period
