The United States Air Force (USAF) is one of the most professional and versatile militaries in the world. The USAF has a long history of giving gifts to its members and allies, both domestically and abroad. In Glendora, California, the USAF Museum offers an interesting view into this history. The first gift given by the USAF to Glendora residents was a rifle grenade launcher in 1946. This weapon was donated by Lt. Col. H B Smith, who served as Commanding Officer of RAF Lakenheath during World War II. The Second Amendment to the United States Constitution guarantees citizens the right to bear arms and protect themselves from unconstitutional government tyranny. Since then, many other weapons have been gifted to Glendora residents through donations or purchase from military surplus stores within Los Angeles County or elsewhere within the United States. These include fighters such as F-4 Phantom Generals which were gifted in 1979, missiles such as AIM-9L Tomahawk Missile Systems which were donated in 1990, bombers such as KC-135 Stratotankers which were donated in 1995 and C-130 Hercules Airliners which were gifted in 2006. Today, there are over 3200 active duty USAF personnel stationed across America including 350 pilots at Luke AFB located just north of Glendora on Ventura County's west side! At Luke AFB we also maintain two E-3 Sentinels airborne early warning/defense platforms that provide complete situational awareness for our metropolitan area!

Glendora is a small city in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 77,713 at the 2010 census. It is located on the edge of the Glendale Hills area and shares borders with Ladera Mesa to the north and east, Westchester County to the south and west, and Agoura Hills to the northwest. The first Europeans who set foot in what is now Glendora were Spanish explorers who passed through in 1795. Juan José Castilla conducted an exploratory mission from Placerville on February 14, 1796. A short time later he founded La Jolla (now San Diego), California on March 16th of that year while traveling down Channel Islands Creek near present-day downtown Glendale. The settlement of La Jolla was soon abandoned because there was no water available for farming or other purposes. In 1817 Mission San Fernando Rey de Monterey began construction on land now known as Chavez Ravine which served as both church and military post until secularization in 1853. In 1853 Mexican Americans came overland from Southern California under United States political pressure to join Mexico during its civil war against General Santa Anna's forces led by Mexican national hero Juárez. Most of these immigrants settled around Chavez Ravine where they developed a farm economy based upon raising large herds of cattle and hogs for market export. By 1870 only about 60% of those arriving had arrived in Glendora; however, many families continued to live here until after World War II when many moved out into suburban areas due to rising prices for real estate around this time nationally). In 1910glendora had 2 schools: one block away from today’s high school building (Newmark School) built as part of a municipally funded bond campaign; also two blocks away from Central High School which served grades 9-12 at that time (Olde English Middle School). Today only one block remains - Newmark Elementary School - Historic District #8 has been renovated into apartments since it closed in 1998 but still retains most if not all its original features including tile floors, gables etc.,original red brick walls etc…. In honor of its many accomplishments, we take a look back at some of the most memorable USAF gifts. In 1954, General Curtis LeMay bestowed upon the USAF its first jet aircraft - the F-86 Sabre. This gift was an important turning point in USAF history, as it demonstrated that the USAAF had potential to become a truly global force. Over time, other major gifts have been given life by their recipients - such as Operation Desert Storm in 1991 or Operation Neptune Spear in 2001. Throughout it all, however, General LeMay's legacy lives on as one of America's earliest advocates for airpower education and operations across nation wide schools. Today, we continue to appreciate what General LeMay has done for our country - through his contributions to both our military and civilian communities alike. Glendora is a small town in central California, United States. It is located on the eastern edge of San Bernardino County and north-northwest of Los Angeles. The population was 10,815 at the 2010 census. Glendora was platted in 1887 by George Gillespie and named after Civil War General John P. Glendora. The first post office in Glendora was established in 1892, and the first store opened in 1895. In 1912, the name of the town was changed to honor General John P. Glendon, who had fought with Ulysses S Grant during the American Civil War. The post office closed in 1915 because of World War I; it reopened in 1919 as a station on the Southern Pacific Railroad line between Pasadena and downtown Los Angeles. Glendora has been a center for industrial production since its establishment as an agricultural community; it is now home to a number of large manufacturing companies including Dow Chemical Co., Jardine Matheson & Co., Motorola Solutions Inc., Intel Corporation, and GEICO Insurers Inc.. One notable glazier, Harry Kessler, started his business at Kessler Glass Company (later renamed Kessler Optics) here in 1922 before moving to Westinghouse Electric Corp.'s plant adjacent to City Hall where he developed world-renowned optics products until his death in 1984.Kessler GlassCompany In 1990, $1 billion worth of new investment led to what is now known as "the renaissance" of Glendale; over this time period some factories were replaced by more modern facilities while others grew into major businesses such as Kaiser Permanente Hospital and Staples Wholesale Holdings Inc.. The town of Glendora was founded in 1887 by James Sutherland and his family. The community grew quickly, and by 1911 it had a population of 2,000 people. In 1916, the Glendora-Porterville Railway was built, and by 1928 the town had a train station. The first post office opened in Glendora on November 1, 1912. The first dentist in Glendora was Dr. John Sowell. By 1935, the population ofGlendale had reached 10,000 people and the town name changed to Glendale after that year's census showed that there were more than 5,000 residents in both towns. In 1958, the California Legislature passed Proposition 61 which granted voting rights to citizens of Los Angeles County who had lived outside of city limits for three years before they became citizens. This amendment made Glendale one of the first cities in California to have full voting rights (it is still an unincorporated community). In 1966, voters approved a $1 million bond issue to fund projects such as better schools and infrastructure improvements inGlendale. In recent years, many businesses have closed down due to economic recession; however, some new businesses have emerged that continue to thrive thanks to their innovative approaches to marketing and customer service
