The California Navy Department was founded on February 14, 1847 in Glendora by Commodore John S. Farley with the purpose of providing a navy for the state. The first ship built for the navy was USS Constitution, which was launched on December 12, 1847. In 1865, the navy and Marine Corps merged to become one branch of government under President Abraham Lincoln. On July 26, 1898, Japan attacked San Francisco during the Spanish-American War and America declared war on Japan. The United States Navy fought in World War II against Nazi Germany and Japan as part of the Allied Forces. After World War II ended in 1945, the California Navy Department phased out its own program and all ships were sold or scrapped. The California Naval Museum is located at Pier 25 in downtown Glendora nearUSS Constitution Museum (1948-present). The museum has exhibits about American naval history from prehistory to Pearl Harbor Day 1945. There is also an exhibit about Japanese naval history from World War II through Emperor Hirohito’s surrender in 1972. A replica of USS Constitution can be seen at Simi Valley Naval Air Station where it remains operational today as a training aircraft carrier

Glendora is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. The population was 25,711 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Riverside–San Bernardino–Ontario Metropolitan Statistical Area. They began subdivisions there and named their subdivision "Glendale". When they sold their interest in 1959, Glendale had a population of over 50 000 people. In 1963 three brothers named Jack Horan bought 5% of Menlo Park's stock in Google Inc., which later became PACS Corporation; they were one of only two shareholders left after Google spun off its core business into its own company with Larry Page as CEO. They renamed their investment company Googleplex after their hometowns - Palo Alto and Florence - both within easy driving distance from each other across Silicon Valleyframing an ideal location for technology companies adjacent to universities like Stanford and UC Berkeley

The area around Glendora was first inhabited by the Tongva people and various other Native American groups. In 1824, Spanish explorer Juan Bautista de Anza founded the Presidio of Monterey on what is now downtown Glendora. In 1846, Mexican War veteran and U.S. Army officer Pius Long built a rancho (property) in what is now Glendora east of present day Glendale Boulevard. He named it Rancho Santiago de la Timbrola after his brother-in-law Santiago Timbrola, who had served under General Santa Anna during the Mexican War of Independence. In 1849, Pius Long sold his holdings in Rancho Santiago to José Joaquin Morral y Rivera, who renamed it La Paloma Rey after Queen Victoria of England’s former consorts at that time. In 1861, railroad entrepreneur George Stephenson built a branch line from Sacramento to San Francisco via Arenal Springs in present day Placerville before inaugurating the first train service between Sacramento and San Francisco on April 1st. By 1865, La Paloma Rey had become one of California’s largest citrus towns with 6500 fruit trees producing 400 tons of oranges per year; however production dwindled in the early 20th century as diseases such as canker blight attacked our industry and world markets dried up following pandemics like citrus yellow fever and botulism). During World War II, most residents supported the United States because they believed their town would be invaded if war came to America; however when Japan bombed Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941 many residents chose not to evacuate or support their country during wartime due to fear that they might lose their homes if Japan took over America’s coastal areas including Glendale proper where they lived & worked). After World War II ended there were efforts throughout North America to rebuild post-war communities which failed due in part to a lack of resources & interest by both local governments (& developers) relative to population growth resulting from postwar migration ( predominantly Japanese & Latino residents moving into formerly white neighborhoods affluent Californians vacated). With no market available for newly developed housing developments outside Los Angeles County (& large suburban sprawl developing around major cities), manyGlendora properties reverted back into agricultural hands until 1978 when AJP Properties purchased all remaining lands within city limits making Glendon an officially incorporated community with full services including schools & fire departments etc.). Today much of what once constituted DowntownGlendon remains closed off from traffic consisting largely of office buildings used by small businesses while several blocks north along Euclid Avenue contain numerous old citrus warehouses once used for storage/processing operations now home to various small businesses catering mostlyto Asian immigrant populations): these areas are often called “The Chinatowns” although there is no evidence that any Chinese people ever lived or operated withinGLENDORA boundaries prior thereto! Although much has changed since 1978 most aspects remain essentially same with notable exceptions being that only about 10% OF THE WORKERS ARE JEWISH!
