In 1912, The Coffee Shop and Cafeteria chain was founded by Harry Smith and Fenton Morton. From 1935 to 1941, the Glen Oaks Coffee Company operated a cafe in Glen Oaks Shopping Center. From 1961 to 1969, the First National Bank of Glendora had a convenience store on Market Street called the Glen Oaks Supermarket. In 1992, Starbucks opened its first location in Glendora.
Glendora is a small city located in San Bernardino County, California. The population was 6,711 at the 2010 census. It is served by the Glendora Unified School District. The first Europeans to sight and name Glendora were Hugh Glass and Sebastian Vizcaino in 1788. In 1824, John Cushing bought Rancho de los Nietos from Manuel Nieto for $1,000. He named it Rancho Cushing because he had acquired it from his father-in-law, Cyrus Cushing. The original grantees of Rancho Cushing included Juan Bautista Alvarado (1796), Pedro Fages (1820), José Joaquin Peralta (1825), José Antonio Durán (1827), and Bernardo de la Torre y Arellano (1829). In 1857, Agustín Carranza granted part of Rancho de las Pulgas to James Waddell for $5,000 after discovering an oil well at that location. Waddell renamed the area "El Paso" after the Paso del Norte River in Mexico City where he had studied law before coming to America.According to legend, Rafael Márquez lost his cattle this way and began a 40-year feud with Waddell which ended when Márquez sold his half interest in the ranch to Waddell in 1886 for $2 million dollars ($ today). In 1914, during World War I American forces invaded Mexico and defeated Mexican forces at Buenaventura on September 15th; El Paso became an American military post known as Camp Bowie within days of the battle's occurrence. From then until its closure as a U.S military base in 1993 it was also home to Headquarters Third Army Command Post El Paso Barracks "(sic)". A detachment of Spanish Marines barracks stood on what is now Glendale Boulevard between Sixth Street SW and Seventh Street SW from 1917 until 1945 when they were replaced by another detachment barracks on what is now Power Road SE near Interstate 10 east of US 101 south of Texas Avenue NE . Afterglow posters advertising soft drinks called "Pepsi" still hang from some poles around town today although their source has not been determined .

Glendora is a small town in California, located about 25 miles east of Los Angeles. The population was 9,763 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Pasadena-Hollywood-Monrovia Metropolitan Statistical Area. Glendora was founded in 1887 by James Purdy and his family as a farming community on land that now includes downtown, Main Street, and much of what is now Riverside Drive. The post office for Glendora was established in 1887, and named for General Philip Sheridan's ranch near present-day Glendora. The first store in downtown Glendora opened on Valentine's Day 1889. In the early 1920s, two brothers opened a grocery store called the Golden Fleece which became one of the most popular stores in town. That store closed in 1922 but reopened as Hometown Grocery some years later before finally closing again in 1951. The first movie theater in Glendora was built on Elm Street just north of Main Street in 1921 by Harry Cohn and his brother Sam Cohn with seating for 100 people. The theater operated until it burned down in 1945. The last movie shown there was "The Three Musketeers" on December 5th, 1946 (the date also marks the end of MGM's monopoly on film production). After that Theater attendance declined rapidly until finally it closed its doors permanently around 1970 due to lack of business opportunities outside video rentals/streaming services more than five decades ago! In 1969–1970 an old post office building on Main Street (now Riverside Drive) served as the new home for both Pickering School District No 2 (grades K through 12) and Hollywood High School before being sold to local developer Don Cowles who turned it into an office complex known today as Cowles & Associates Developer Services LLC which has since been renamed AECOM USA LLP after their purchase from Don Cowles' son Meir Horowitz! It should be noted that this building has had no tenants since its closure over fifty years ago...its unique facade remains unchanged (!), once again testifying to how valuable a real estate property can be when left alone! Glendora features many beautiful examples of Greek Revival architecture dating back to 1887 including: Holy Cross Catholic Church (built 1886), St John’s Episcopal Church (1893), Pioneer Lutheran Church (1901), First Baptist Church (1905), Our Lady Of Mount Carmel Chapel(1927), Community United Methodist Church(1945). Other notable buildings include: Armstrong Elementary School built 1912; Northglenn Middle School built 1957; Southglenn Intermediate School built 1961; Westglen High School built 1966; Riverside Drive Historic District courthouse Built 1898
