National Guard gifts have been a part of Hawaiian Gardens history for over sixty years. Gifts from the National Guard have helped to make this small town in central California a place where residents can relax and enjoy their summer days. The first national guard gift was given to the town by Captain George H. Condon, commanding officer of Company G, 1st Infantry Regiment at Fort McDowell on July 4, 1922. The gift was $100 worth of supplies and equipment. From then until 1959, the town received an annual donation of $10 per capita from members of the military or their families. In 1959, Mayor Harry Aiken created the Hawaii Gardens National Monument to honor all those who have donated to help make Hawaiian Gardens a beautiful community and heritage site. The monument contains more than twenty-five thousand artifacts from both local and international sources including items from China, Japan, Korea, India, Thailand and Vietnam. Today, donations continue to be made by individuals and businesses throughout Hawai’i because they feel pride in contributing their time and money to support our community’s cultural resources that make it special. It served as the armory for the HawaiiGuard, a militia unit that participated in World War II. The HawaiiGuard were disbanded in 1945 and their equipment and records were moved to the armory.

This was followed by similar awards throughout his term as president including those given to Guardsmen from Fort Carson Army Base outside Denver Colorado in 1984; West Point cadets in 1990; Arizona Rangers in 1994; Florida State Troopers in 1996; and North Carolina Highway Patrol officers in 1998-1999). Gifts have also been presented at eventides such as Governors' Ball balls and White House Easter egg hunts (often conducted jointly by state governors and U.S. Attorneys General). The National Guard has grown over time, and now includes more than 12 million active duty soldiers, sailors, marines, and airmen.
Hawaii Gardens was founded in 1922 by the father of the current owner, Hawaiian Gardens Golf and Country Club. The original land for the golf course, which is now located in Pacific Palisades, was donated by Captain James Cook. The first clubhouse was built on what is now the fairway of #1 hole at Hawaii Gardens. In 1952, Captain David Cooke, who helped found Hawaii Gardeners' Association and later served as president of Hawaiian Gardeners' Club, donated additional land to make up the present day course. In 1974-1975, construction began on a new clubhouse and green complex that are still in use today. The Honolulu-based company that developed and operated the golf course from 1922 until its sale to Hawaiian Gardens Golf and Country Club in 1994 made significant contributions to Hawaiʻi cultural history through their ownership of the club and their donation of over $2 million dollars to various local organizations. The name "Hawaii Gardeners" originally referred to only part of what is now known as California; while some members might have been called "hawaiians," all professional golfers were invited to join together under one roof for Christmas dinner in 1922 under then President Franklin D Roosevelt's suggestion as part of his effort to improve relationships between different racial groups during World War II. This event marked an important milestone for both clubs as well as golfing in general because it showcased American players against European competition with a view towards building better relations between Americans (of all races) across international boundaries. After years of growth within both clubs - both through membership dues/donations/play opportunities and facility renovations - it was announced on January 15th, 1999 that they would be merging into one entity which would be known as "Pacific Palisades", making it easier for everyone involved with management including memberships/teamspeak etc.. In light of this merger there have been many changes made within both clubs such as splitting off departments responsible for member services such as online Membership Portal which allows team members access without having to leave their office or home; upgrading equipment; expanding course amenities (including putting greens); creating events such as Senior Open Championships; marketing & social media initiatives around championship tournaments etc... There has also been discussion about relocating / redesigning existing courses but no final decision has yet been made
Hawaii Gardens is a public park on the border of San Bernardino and Riverside counties in southern California. The park was dedicated to Major General David J. Evans, who served as Commandant of the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1871 until his death in 1902. The park also includes a replica of the White House and other historical landmarks.
