Air force gifts have been a part of Healdsburg's history for many years. The Healdsburg Air Force Base is home to the United States Air Forces in Europe (USAFE) and has been providing airmen and their families with unique opportunities since its inception in 1951. Some of the most famous military gifts from the Healdsburg AFB include the P-47 Thunderbolt fighter aircraft, which was gifted to the base in 1957; and the A-10 Warthog bomber, which was given to the AFB in 1969. These gifts were all designed to help keep America's troops safe and support their operations abroad. The USAFE also contributed two Model T automobiles to Healdsburg AFB in 1956 and 1958, respectively. This donation helped improve access for service members and their families who needed transportation during various activities at the AFB. Additionally, five motorcycles were donated to Healdsburg AFB in 1988. This donation helped increase troop morale within the AFE and provide them with necessary equipment for Operation Desert Storm II. Today, USAFE continues its tradition of giving back by donating new vehicles or parts to local businesses throughout California each year. In 2017, this gifting totaled over $27,000! This generous act helps support local businesses while also providing valuable feedback that allows USAFE to continue making a positive impact on California's economy.

In 1862 Heald started construction of his own sawmill which continues to be run today by family members through their company Ghent Mill & Sawmill Incorporated (GMSI). In 1876 Henry Ford established his first factory here at Hawthorne Street and Dryden Avenue; more than 100 years later Ford's descendants still operate his company here. In 1923 Pacific Gas & Electric built its first power plant in Healdsburg – one of only a few municipally owned utilities in California at that time – creating major economic development opportunities for both communities. Today, many local businesses continue to thrive thanks to PG&E's commitment to environmental stewardship; its innovative new products and services;and its support for local education initiatives across all levels including comprehensive high school education for all students statewide! Today’s residents are proud participants in our community’s history as well as proud ambassadors of their hometown – whether they are taking part in business or politics. Healdsburg is a small town in Northern California, located on the banks of the Sacramento River. The population was 5,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Sacramento-San Joaquin Valley Metropolitan Statistical Area. Healdsburg has been inhabited for over 10,000 years. The first permanent settlement in what is now Healdsburg was made in 1849 by Captain John Sutter and his party when they explored the area for potential land grants. In 1858, Judge James Wickersham laid out Healdsburg as a town on about 8 acres of land that he had purchased from Abel Hittorf. The original name for Healdsburg was "Sutter's Fort." In 1870, Mayor George Wickersham renamed it "Healdsburg" after General John Brougham (1788-1872), who served as Governor of California during the Mexican–American War and helped to bring about California's admission into the United States as a state. In 1915, entrepreneur Clarence Kapp bought 154 acres (65 hectares) east of downtown Healdsburg and began developing what would become Kapp Park which became one of Silicon Valley's most popular tourist destinations. Kapp Park features an openair theater, bandstands, tennis courts, picnic areas and other public amenities enjoyed by visitors today. The city experienced rapid growth during World War II due to its proximity to munitions factories and its role as both a strategic bombing target and production center for aircraft manufacturer Boeing Company. Over 1 million people were employed in industry and services during World War II in Healdsburg; nearly all these employees lived within a few miles of downtown or Kapp Park. post-war development slowed until the late 1960s when new hospitals and shopping centers came online including JIRA HealthCare Partners which merged with Kaiser Permanente in 1998 to form HP Pavilion Medical Center/Kaiser Permanente Healdsburg Incorporated Today Healdsburg remains largely rural with many residents working inside urban cores such as Redding or Walnut Creek
