Military gifts have been a part of Hermosa Beach, California's history for many years. From the earliest days of the city, residents and businesses have donated items and services to support our military. Today, Hermosa Beach is home to over 11,000 military members and their families who provide essential services throughout the Santa Barbara County community. The city has also become an important training ground for new officers and enlisted personnel in both the private and public sectors. The City of Hermosa Beach has expended countless hours in order to ensure that military gifts are given with understanding and appreciation. Gifts from individuals or businesses can be difficult to track down, but we are proud to offer a list of some of our most popular Military Gift History items. artillery pieces dating back as early as 1851 were donated by Captain John Pemberton during his visit to Hermosa Beach from San Francisco on July 4th of that year! This cannon was mounted on a large post located near downtown Hermosa Beach. It served as a warning signal for any ships passing through the local area. In 1899, Mayor Harry Wiggin offered his home at 5451 Irvine Boulevard as a base camp for troops being used in World War I. After hostilities ended, the United States Marine Corps moved into Wiggin's home until it was replaced by Camp Pendleton in 1922. In 1925, Navy Commander Arthur Sabin donated two 40-foot fiberglass boats called "Sabin Boats" which were used by Marines during exercises off Santa Barbara County beaches during 1928-1929 when there was no beach available in town! In 1931, Sgt William Larkin donated a machinegun which was installed on top of Mt Baldy at Point Conception State Park - this weapon became known as "Larkin's Gun." In 1935 (the same year that Camp Pendleton opened), Mrs Juana Moya de la Cruz gifted three rifles (one rifle per family) she had owned since before Spanish Independence – these rifles eventually became known as "Moya Rifles." During World War II (1941-1945), WWII veteran Herb Kapp provided four steel drums filled with gasoline cans full of $10 worth of gasoline each - this was later turned into an air conditioning unit! Finally, in 1951 after Captain John Pemberton's donation arrived back at hand... Mrs Juana Moya de la Cruz gave her gift to Mayor Harry Wiggin himself! These are just some examples from over 100 years ago; today we continue to appreciate all those who support our armed forces through donations such as these!

Hermosa Beach, California is a city located in Orange County, California. The population was 33,828 at the 2010 census. It is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Southern California. The beach is known for its dramatic golden sand beaches and crystal clear waters. Hermosa Beach has been inhabited by Native Americans for over 10,000 years. In 1821 Spain granted Rancho Santa Ana to Jose Maria Bordallo and his wife Mariana Cisneros. The Bordallo family ran the ranch until it was sold to Englishman John Sutter in 1848. In 1850, following Mexican American war victory, President James K person appointed Jepsen as military governor of Californias new district of Los Angeles County including Hermosa Beach Harbor which then became part of District 9 under Captain George Hearst. On 6 Feb 1860 Catherine Hearst married Don Carlos Ortiz from La Jolla and they moved into their own home on the Ortega-Huerta Estate in what is now downtown LA before moving into their current home across from Fort MacArthur on Main Street in 1915 The first hotel built onsite was the Hotel Del Coronado which opened on 1 May 1870 by Commodore Cornelius Vanderbilt's son Commodore John A. Macdonald with rooms above an oyster house next door to San Francisco's Alameda wharf where goods were unloaded ontoshore during rapids season). After years of construction delays due to bad weather, work began on the first completion date: 15 Sep 1886 when guests arrived aboard USS Constitution anchored off shore at Point Lobos just south of present day Hermosa Beach Pier; this event marked "the beginning of modern tourism here" This same year also saw construction begin on El Toro Naval Air Station (later Imperial Airport), about 12 miles east of town center along State Route 116 and now used principally for airmail flights between LA and points north although occasionally used for military events . CEO David Rockefeller donated land near El Toro for use as an airport providing start money for today's airport . In 1914 Pacific Electric Railway started passenger service from downtown Los Angeles through Willow Glen Station which served as a terminal until 1943 when Amtrak took over operations . By 1938 there were only six restaurants open in town center with about 100 people using them - this number had increased to 350 by 1951 when Interstate 5 cut off access to town center making it difficult or impossible to expand services During World War II many industries closed but Hermosa Boulevard continued normal traffic flow throughout while thousands more residents fled inland because war Production shifted inland
Hermosillo, Baja California was founded in 1535 by the Exploration of Mexico on the banks of the Río Bravo. The town was named after Saint John the Baptist and it became a capital of Baja California in 1769. The first mission built there was San Felipe de la Huerta, which closed in 1775 and reopened in 1802 as Santa Cruz de la Huerta. In 1821, Hermosillo became part of Mexicali and then Puebla.
