The Hesperia Coffee Company was founded in 1954 by the late Dr. Harry Witt and Mr. Abe Sussman, two of California's most successful coffee entrepreneurs. The company grew rapidly, becoming one of the leading roasters in the state. In 1984, Hesperia Coffee became a division of Peet's Coffee America, Inc., which remains one of America's leading coffee companies today. Hesperia is located on the banks of the river San Joaquin near Sacramento, and has been known for its fine quality coffee all throughout its history. The first time that coffee was brewed at Hesperia's new facility was in 1954 by Harry Witt and Abe Sussman with their three-acre lot on Main Street just east of Sacramento Falls. At that time there were no such things as espresso machines or drip coffee brewers - it was all fresh ground beans served through a French press into small cups or mugs In 1984, when Peet's Coffee America merged with Arco Foods Corporation (later PepsiCo), Hesperia Coffee became part of PepsiCo's Pacific Northwest division. Today, Hesperia Coffee continues to produce high-quality artisanal espresso beverages under the same name as it did back in 1984 - a reminder that only good quality coffee can make you feel great about yourself!

Hesperia, California is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 1,826 at the 2010 census. It is located on the edge of the Mojave Desert and is about an hour's drive from downtown Los Angeles. The Hesperia Mission still stands as one of the few remaining mission churches in southern California. The town was founded by Mormon pioneers in 1847, and it became part of Imperial County. In 1896, Hesperia merged with neighboring Rocklin to form a new county called Kern County. The name Hesperia came from Spanish for "place where olive trees grow." Hesperia has two primary businesses: agriculture and military ordnance production. Agriculture includes hay, cattle, pistachios, almonds, oats and other fruits; manufacturing includes firearms (guns and ammunition), appliances and car parts. Naval Ordinance production includes torpedoes and sonar equipment used by naval vessels

ASSEMBLE COFFEE HISTORY BACK TO THE EAST: As coffee began to spread through the world, it was brought over by traders and travelers. One of the first to bring coffee back to Europe was a Portuguese sailor, Manuel Alvares Cabral. Arriving in India in 1498, Cabral tasted the sweet drink for the first time and brought some back with him. Soon after, he founded a small town near Lisbon called Brazils (Breadbricks) because of its high quality coffee beans. The town became an important center for coffee trade and production. In 1655, King Joao III of Portugal granted permission for two Dutchmen named Jan van Eyck and Abraham Ortelius to start a cooperative business shipping coffee from Brazil! This new system allowed European merchants to purchase beans direct from Brazilian farmers. Over the next hundred years, different groups of people tried their hand at growing coffee. Some succeeded while others failed. However, one thing was constant: The passion and love for coffee that people had throughout these years led them to continue trying new methods and prototypes in order to improve upon what had been done before. It is this sense of innovation that has made artisan coffee so special – something that cannot be found in other types of food products or beverages. Additionally, artisan Coffee has always been fiercely independent; there have never been any large commercial entities controlling or sponsoring its development or production.. In 1978–79, Alan Peake set out on a five-year journey across Africa as part of his BBC TV series Africa's Great Men ( Later republished as A People's History Of Coffee). During his travels he visited several traditional African villages where he tasted and sampled various forms of roasted coffee including raw cow’s milk java (now known as african roast). From this experience Peake learned about how important roasting is when it comes to obtaining complex flavors associated with well-made coffees.) After finishing his trip he returned home with a deep understanding of how integral roasting can be when cultivating high quality artisan coffees around the world

The first coffee was roasted by a man named J.B. Lippincott in 1795. The first coffee beans were grown on the slopes of Mount St Helens in the United States.

Hesperia, California was founded in 1846 by John C. Frémont and his partner, George A. Smith. The town was named for the Hesperus constellation of stars. In 1851, it became a part of the newly created County of San Bernardino. In 1866, it became a part of the new County of Riverside. The population grew rapidly during the Gold Rush in southern California and by 1870, Hesperia had over 1,000 residents. In 1886, Hesperia incorporated as a city with a population of 684 people. It experienced rapid growth during World War II due to its proximity to Los Angeles and its importance as an industrial center for defense production. On July 14, 1944, Hesperia was consolidated into the newly created City of LA with a population of 881 people
