Hillsborough is a city in Los Angeles County, California, United States. The population was 116,897 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles–Long Beach–Anaheim Metropolitan Statistical Area. In 1969, a tornado touched down in Hillsborough and caused extensive damage to the town center and some surrounding rural communities.
