Hollister, CA has been a coffee town for over sixty years. The first coffee roasters in Hollister were started by John and Betty Bickerton in the early 1940s. Coffee was originally roasted on family farms and sold from small shops. Today, Hollister is home to some of the most well-known and prestigious coffee roasters in the area, including Blue Bottle Coffee, Four Barrel Coffee, and Peet's Coffee & Tea. These roasters have all given back to their community through philanthropy, support of local businesses, and involvement in local events. The history of coffee goes back even further than that - Holmster is where Ethiopian goats were brought into California in 1847 to be used as livestock for planting coffee beans! The first printed reference to coffee being grown here comes from an article written by Simeon Coxe in 1857 entitled "A History of Our Native Species of Cattle In California" which reports that cattle are being raised on this site today. During World War II, Hollister was a leader in providing bases campgrounds with fresh water supplies thanks to its unique groundwater system. Today, the city provides nearly all drinking water needs for residents within its limits - something that is attributes to its rainwater harvesting system as well! Since 1990s when Peet's opened up shop here – much has changed not just about coffee but also about life hereabouts too. Hollister is a town in San Luis Obispo County, California. The population was 1,853 at the 2010 census. Hollister was founded in 1868 and named for Hollister, England. The first coffee beans were grown in the area by José Antonio Nieto and others near present-day Hollister. By 1899, most of the acreage surrounding current-day Hollister had been bought by J.B. Robinson Coffee Co., which began growing coffee on site in 1903. In 1916, the milling plant adjoining Robinson's property was built to increase tonnage to meet the increasing demand from roasters export markets such as Europe and Japan. From 1946 until its closure in 1984, C&M Coffee (now owned by Starbucks) ran a separate production line handling whole bean beans destined for retail distribution before they were processed into ground form at Robinson's mill. In 2006, Hollister established an urban agriculture program that grew produce onsite or nearby using solar power and irrigation systems instead of water Conservation Districts or fertilizer treatments
Hollister, California is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 6,723 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Fresno–Madera, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The Hollister community began as a farming settlement in 1853 and was named for George Hollister, an early settler. By 1860, however, the community had grown to include ranching and agricultural interests. A post office was established in 1868 and by 1886 it had become a city. In 1910 Hollister had 3200 residents; by 2020 it had only 1700 residents. In 1930 Hollister experienced its first windstorm which destroyed some homes and damaged others. The following year saw the installation of a water tower which replaced an earlier system that failed after several years of use. In 1935 the city built its first public works project: a road between downtown Hollister and rural areas west of town. That same year also saw the establishment of the First Baptist Church in nearby Saugus which has served as both Hollister's main religious center and civic center ever since. In 1945 Hollister installed its first streetlight; over time other public works projects have been completed such as sewer lines (1957), new libraries (1972), redevelopment of downtown (1991), and more recent additions like Interstate 5widening (2006).

Hollister, California is a small town in the San Joaquin Valley of California. The population was 1,848 at the 2010 census. It is located about an hour east of Sacramento, and about an hour south of Fresno. The first European to visit Hollister was Jedediah Smith in 1824. When the US Route 99 corridor opened in 1958, Hollister became one of its early cities because it was only a few miles from the new highway. In 1964, Hollister voters passed a resolution calling for the towns post office to be renamed after General John J. Pershing. This resolution failed but still remains on the town’s constitution as part of its history and lore. The Hollister Fire Department has been providing fire protection for the community since 1906 when a volunteer department was organized by George Wickersham Jr., who also operated what is now known as Wickersham Park across town from Hollister High School (now West Bluff Middle School). In 1951, following passage of state Statute 5010 which authorized school districts to provide their own firefighting equipment and services without county assistance, Hollister Elementary School District #1 formed with two schools – Maplewood and Cherry Grove – to serve students within that district boundaries; while North Central Valley Intermediate Schools continued serving students within that district boundaries until 1965 when all four school districts were merged into one system under State Statute 5010(a).

Hollister was founded in 1887 by John A. Hollister and Wm. H. Beale as a small town on the east side of the river with a post office and 7 families living there. For many years it was one of Kern County's two most populous cities; however, its population began to decline in the late 1990s as immigration increased to Kern County from other parts of California and other countries. In 2000, Hollister had an estimated population of 6,813 but by 2010 had shrunk to 5,977 residents due to illegal immigration and other factors
