Huntington Park is a small city in the San Joaquin Valley of California, United States. The population was 21,812 at the 2010 census. It is northeast of Fresno and south of Stockton. The city is named after Samuel Huntington, an American businessman who led two unsuccessful campaigns for president in 1884 and 1888. Huntington Park was founded in 1903 by rancher John Witherspoon and civil engineer Hiram S. Evans as a small town on the San Joaquin River near present-day Northridge. The first post office was established in 1907. In 1909, Huntington Park became a fully incorporated municipality with a mayor and council appointed by the governor; it had no school district or public library. At that time, many people living in the rural areas around Huntsville were forced to leave because of cheap labor available from Southern Californians working on new industrial projects such as aircraft manufacturing plants or oil refineries located near Fresno. In 1933, President Franklin D Roosevelt ordered General Douglas MacArthur to send troops into California to prevent further economic distress caused by the Great Depression; this led to increased development activity around Huntsville due to its strategic location between Los Angeles and San Francisco

Its earliest inhabitants likely came from India or Iran during the late 1800s when goldmining operations were taking place in this area. Over time, however, many different groups have made their homes here including Japanese Americans during World War II; Latinos during the 1960s and 1970s; and professional athletes such as Lance Armstrong and Roger Federer over the years. Today, Huntington Park is still home to plenty of residents who are passionate about their hometown – whether they be cyclists or fans of baseball or soccer games at PETCO Park!
