These beans were processed and roasted by Harry Sauer, who started the business in 1922. In 1925, J.B. Latham and Sons began production of a coffee called "Latham's Choice." This coffee was made from a blend of two different types of Arabica beans - Sidamoan and Robusta - and was sold fresh or canned in blocks. In 1927, The Coffee Bean Company opened its doors in Imperial Beach with the goal of serving quality coffee to local residents. The company grew rapidly thanks to its innovative marketing strategies, which featured ads that put emphasis on the unique flavor profile of their coffee beans. By 1933, The Coffee Bean Company had reached $10 million in assets and was one of the largest companies in southern California. In 1938, Harry Sauer passed away and his son Julius took over as president of The Coffee Bean Company. Under Julius' ownership, the company shifted its focus from bean to cup by introducing drip-coffee systems and other innovative products. In 1961, Donny Deutsch became president of The Coffee Bean Company after purchasing it from Julius Schleicher. Under Donny Deutsch's management, The Coffee Bean Company introduced many new products such as Keurig machines and ground espresso capsules for retail customers. The name was chosen in honor of Prince George, brother of King George III. Today, Imperial Beach has a population of over 100,000 people who live in more than twenty-five neighborhoods. The history of Imperial Beach can be traced back to 1846 when Isreal Moreno purchased land adjacent to where today’s shoreline rests. He named his settlement after His Serene Highness the Prince George which at the time formed part of British Columbia. In 1863, when American forces were invading Mexico and took possession of Baja California, Emperor Maximilian II granted General Josiah Beale an official monopoly on shipping through the port at San Diego. This allowed Beale to build a wharf onshore and beginShipping goods from Acapulco to Los Angeles County and points eastward. At this time, there was no railroad connection between San Diego and Los Angeles County so goods had to be shipped by ship or wagon train overland. In 1892 construction began on what would become known as Beale Boulevard which connected downtown San Diego with Beale Landing beachfront property north of present day Naval Weapons Station Point Loma (NWSL). With this expansion came increased business for Beale Boulevard merchants including Jens Jensen & Sons dry goods store, Harry Wolkowsky cigar store, Pabst Brewing Company restaurant and Kaiser Wilhelm Brewery beer garden that still stands today near NWSL personnel housing barracks. In 1935 Anil Kumble founded The Indian Trading Post at Point Loma which became one of America’s leading inland trading centers during World War II serving as both military supply depot and transit point for Japanese Americans interned in Southern California during World War II . Upon its closure in 1945 Anil Kumble donated all assets including buildings, equipment and stockpile materials to UCLA School Of Medicine where they are currently used as teaching hospitals today

In 1915, the city of Imperial Beach was incorporated, and it quickly began to grow into an important community within its own right. By the 1940s, the city had reached a population of over 100,000 residents. In 1948, the United States entered World War II and the city came under heavy military bombardment. Despite this damage, Imperial Beach remained largely unscathed and resumed its role as a popular tourist destination soon after hostilities ended. In 1959, Emperor Norton Sound opened up onshore to provide more opportunities for fishing in Bolsa Bay. This led to increased trade between Imperial Beach and nearby ports such as San Francisco and Oakland. In 1984, part of downtown Imperial beach were destroyed by fire which caused extensive damage but no loss of life. In 1995-1996, Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton relocated from El Centro to adjacent portions of downtown Imperial beach due to concerns about potential erosion from high tide during storm surges. As a result of this relocation, much older infrastructure within Downtown imperial beach were lost or damaged including many businesses that had been located along South Street (now Harbor Boulevard). However redevelopment has since begun at various locations in central downtown with mixed results In recent years there have been efforts made by developers to bring development back onto southern end of old downtown - particularly around South street - however these projects have not yet progressed beyond preliminary planning stages
