The Irvine Navy Deployed Gift History Museum is a unique and valuable artifact of the military community in Irvine, California. The museum is dedicated to honoring the sacrifices made by members of the Irvine Naval Base duringOperation Desert Storm, Operation Desert Shield, and Operation Enduring Freedom. From USS Enterprise (CVN-68) to USS Constitution (CVN-74), the naval base has been home to some of America’s most illustrious warships. The shipyards here have produced vessels that have served in every theater of World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq. These ships were not just delivering goods or supplies; they were part of American firepower which helped secure our way into victory in each conflict. In fact, many if not all of these ships have been preserved for posterity as museums or tourist destinations on our beautiful campus near Newport Beach. But there was one navy vessel that received special treatment from the Irvine Naval Base over the years – USS Enterprise donated her sister ship USS Constellation (CVN-74) to be used as a gift shop at the museum! This was an incredible gesture from Commodore James E Jones III and it is clear that he values friendship above all else. It also goes to show how seriously CommodoreJones took his role within the navy – he donated two Ships rather than just one! And what better way to show your support for your fellow servicemen/women than by giving them something special? So we can say with certainty that this gift history will continue long after Commodore Jones’ retirement from active duty!
