The Kerman Air Force Base is home to the California Air National Guard's 414th Bomb Wing, which operates two Boeing 747-400 jetliners. The wing has been a part of the CA ANG since 1959. In 1978, the wing was redesignated as the 414th Fighter Wing and in 1991 became an operational Joint Forces Air Component Commander (JFACC) unit under Operation Desert Storm. The wing flew F-4E Phantoms during that conflict. In 2002, the wing was retitled as the 414th Airlift Wing and became a single entity within CA ANG with jurisdiction over all airlift activities at Kerman AFB. That same year saw the introduction of Boeing 737-800 aircraft into the wing. Since then, each Airlift Squadron has been able to operate three Boeing 737s while simultaneously providing support for other units in DAANG airspace pursuant to flying agreements entered into between respective squadron commanders and base commanders

The service branches of the Air Force are Military Airlift Command (MAC), NATO, Global Strike Command (GSC), Strategic Support Commands, Special Operations Forces, and Space Command. The Air Force offers many opportunities for people to learn about it and serve in it. There are many air force museums around the country that offer visitors unique experiences and information about air forces history and culture. These museums can be found at bases all across America as well as at visitor centers located inside military installations or on Navy ships afloat or ashore. The Kerman Air Force Base gift history goes back to the early days of the base. The United States Air Force activated Kerman Army Airfield in 1941 and began providing support for Army units stationed at the base. Inactivated in 1945, the airfield was reactivated as an air force station in 1951 and became a subordinate unit of the California Air National Guard. Kerman AFB was reassigned from inactive status to active duty in 1958 as one of three USAF bases located on central California’s Central Coast. With its new purpose, Kerman AFB grew rapidly and by 1961 had more than 2,000 military members assigned to it. The facility also saw service during Operation Neptune’s Spear – a time-sensitive mission that took place during the Cold War between North Korea and America – which provided live ammunition training for fighter pilots. In 1962, Kerman AFB became home to two KC-135 Stratotankers, which served as both primary tanker aircraft and aerial refueling platforms for USAF bombers flying over California. The KC-135s continued to provide essential airlift until they were retired from active service in 1993. Kerman is a small town in Kern County, California. The population was 7,534 at the 2010 census. It is located about east of Bakersfield on State Route 99 and northwest of Visalia on State Route 82. Kerman is part of the Bakersfield metropolitan area. The first Europeans to locate in what is now Kern County were fur traders from the Hudsons Bay Company. They followed the Santa Fe Trail and found an open region with few obstructions for farming or ranching. In 1849, John Sutter founded Sutter's Station, which became one of the largest stations in California and served as a center for trade with Native Americans. This opened up new opportunities for settlers in what had been a heavily forested region. In 1858, prospectors discovered gold in Kern County while driving overland from Humboldt County; this led to an influx of people and equipment into the county during the next several years. By 1860, gold had been found throughout most of California and there was great competition among men for control of these new finds. James Wickersham formed his own company and began producing silver mines near Nacogdoches (now Corpus Christi), Texas; this created problems for Wickersham because he couldn't compete with Mexican miners who had access to better transportation and ore resources than he could produce using his underground operations. In 1861, Wickersham sold his interests in Nacogdoches to J Halliday; by 1865, Halliday had developed two major mining districts – District VII (in north Kern) and District VIII (in south Kern). These districts formed what is now known as Northern California’s “Mining Camp belt” between Stockton and Sacramento counties where mining activity continued until around 1920 One result of this heavy mining activity was that many miles of surface land were destroyed or abandoned due to subsidence caused by the weight of all those rocks being taken out thereby burying homes, stores, roadsides etc.; also many water supplies were lost when dams were built to store water brought up from deeper parts of the earth including Lake Isabella which covered much lower areas before it dried up after some decades In order to continueProducing Silver we needed more Water so we put a dam across Laker River just west side good old US Army Corps officer named Harry Aspinwall decided build him his own Dam called Butte Creek that would work nice with our other projects we have going on at that time so On July 5th 1870 Aspinwall got approval from US Government giving him full Authority To Build His Dam And So He did

The gift history of the USAF can be traced back to World War I when the US military donated planes and other equipment to Great Britain in order to help them fight against Germany. After WWI, the RAF (Royal Air Force) received many American planes in exchange for British arms supplies. In 1948, the USAF became an independent service with its own command structure. In 1954, President Dwight Eisenhower presented General Curtis LeMay with a large aluminum-alloy bomber known as the "Platinum Baby." The aircraft was designed as a symbol of America's airpower power and was meant as a gift for LeMay's upcoming retirement from the army. After his retirement from service in 1958, he used his new position at Wright-Patterson Aeronautical Laboratory to create what would become Boeing's first jet airliner - the Northrop Grumman T-39 Talonjet program which began operations on December 12th, 1961). This event marked the beginning of commercial aviation within the USAF and is considered by some historians to be one of the most important moments in USAF history. The Boeing 727-200 was the first jetliner to be designed and built by Boeing. It entered service in 1970 and was retired in 1997. The plane served as a commuter airline until it was replaced by the 737-800.
Kerman, California is located in the central portion of the San Joaquin Valley, about halfway between Sacramento and Fresno. The area has been inhabited by two groups of Native Americans for at least 10,000 years. One group, the Ohlone people, lived here before arriving in what is now California from mainland Asia about 10,000 years ago. The other group, the Costanoan people arrived during the late 18th century and began to live here permanently about 1775. The first Europeans to arrive in this area were Missionaries in 1769-1770. They founded a small mission near Kerman on Humboldt Bay and named it after Saint Jerome (or Kerman). The Mission was abandoned within a year because of Indian attacks. About 1800 more missionaries came to this area but all died or left before they could establish any settlements. In 1821 Mexican General Agustín de Iturbide established a new capital at Mexico City instead of at San Francisco because he saw that Californias growing population was making it difficult for him to control his troops in Central America. Iturbide decided that an independent state should be created in northcentral California called Alta California which would include parts of present-day Kern County and northern Los Angeles County as well as portions of Riverside County and Orange County east of Long Beach Harbor. Iturbide declared this territory an “ provinces” rather than a “state” because there was no electorate to vote on its behalf so he could not make decisions like whether laws should be passed granting special rights or benefits to certain groups such as Indians or those who had recently come overland from southern Europe settlein
