Kerman, California is located in the Central Valley of California and is bordered by Kern County to the south, Mono County to the east, Tehachapi County to the north and Madera County to the west. The population of Kerman was reported as 25,819 in 2010. The surrounding area has a warm climate with average monthly temperatures ranging from 18-26 degrees Celsius. The Kerman area was first settled by Native Americans about 4,000 years ago. They used this location for hunting and gathering activities until they were displaced by other groups in 1847. In 1850, two ranchers named George Wetherbee and John Ensign bought land in what is now Kerman from the Chumash people. Wetherbee named his land Northfield because he felt that North America would be more successful if it had a name like Europe’s Great Britain or Australia’s New South Wales. A post office called Northfield was opened in 1851, but it ceased operations due to lack of mail service. In 1865, Jepson platted what is today Kerman onto a grant from Rancho San Antonio Mexican Land Company Director José Gabriel Hidalgo y Costilla on land which he had purchased from Mission Santa Catalina de Monterey Indian Chief Manuel Nieto de Arceola. The town began developing rapidly after it was incorporated as a city on April 3rd of that year by Mayor James Purdy and Councilman Augustus Weedon with funds provided by Mr. Hidalgo and local citizens including Mrs. Jennie Purdy Crouse who donated 1 acre (40 hectares) of her property at Seventh Street and Olive Avenue for use as an open air market square which became known as Plaza Mayor or Square Park after its donation by Mrs .Jennie Purdy Crouse." The original core of present day Kerman developed around Plaza Mayor during its early years; however most growth took place around Second Street east of plaza where many businesses relocated following incorporation such as: Bank Of America (now Wells Fargo), Lighthouse Inn & Casino (now Golden Nugget), McDonald's restaurant/franchise/theater complex (now known as The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema), DAO Management Corporation - now Pizza Hut - kennel farm (now defunct), FirstMerit Savings Bank - nowCapital One Mortgage Services - Arroyo Grande School District #1 school building (#2 currently being used as an event center) among others As seen throughout much OF Californias history: Downtown business districts sprung up when transportation improved while outlying areas grew when industry flourished

Leavenworth, Kansas organized a gift-giving event to commemorate their victory in the Korean War. The event became known as “The Christmas Invasion” and continued annually until 1966. In 2008, The Marine Corps Museum dedicated an exhibit called "The Gift of Giving" to commemorate this longstanding tradition. The gift-giving tradition has its origins in antiquity. Many ancient cultures believed that the exchange of gifts between friends was a symbol of hospitality and goodwill. In Ancient Greece, it was common for citizens to give material or spiritual gifts to one another in order show appreciation for services rendered. In China, offerings such as money or food were also common gestures of kindness and respect. Kerman was a small town in the Mojave Desert of California, located about fifty miles east of Los Angeles. It was founded in 1881 by Elias Kerman and his family, who were pioneers in the area. The town developed around a Presbyterian church, which still stands today. After years of development, Kerman erupted into Activity during the 1930s when its population began to grow rapidly due to open-air gambling dens and other industry developments. In 1932, Kerman became an incorporated city with a council–manager government. However, this arrangement failed to meet the needs of the community and in 1935, it disbanded its city government altogether and reverted back to a rural outpost status under state jurisdiction. However, despite these difficulties, Kerman experienced significant growth through World War II as various military installations were constructed within its boundaries. One such installation was Fort Ord that served as headquarters for California Air National Guard units stationed throughout the state. Additionally, during the war period Kerman also became home to both a United States Coast Guard station (USCG Station Seal Beach) and an Army post (Fort Shafter). These establishments helped contribute significantly to postwar economic stability in the area - key factors that have helped keep Kerman thriving over time. Today, there are numerous businesses operating within downtown Kerman as well as smaller outposts scattered throughout the community periphery - all helping contribute towards continued vitality and progressivism across many facets of life here at one small Californian town!
Kerman is a small town in the Kern County, California area that was founded by Europeans in 1849. The first post office in Kerman was established in 1850. By 1860, the population of Kerman had reached about 100 people and it became a part of Kern County. In 1868, the county seat was moved from Kerman to Bakersfield. In 1910, the Kerman cotton gin was destroyed by fire. The local community rebuilt it and continued to use it until it closed in 1945. Today, there are only a few remaining buildings from when Kern County's Cotton Gin used to be located in central Kerman
