The Kingsburg Army Depot was a major depot in Kingsburg, California during World War II. It was used to store American military equipment and supplies. The depot closed in the early 1960s and is now defunct. However, its history can still be seen today at the nearby Fort Irwin Army Base Museum. Kingsburg's first military installation was an artillery battery established in 1848. The battery moved to present-day Kingsbury (now part of Fort Irwin) in 1854 and remained there until 1886 when it transferred to the newly founded Fort Ord Army Base. During World War I, the army set up a base at Kingsbury as part of General John J Pershing's Secondwestern Front Offensive campaign against Mexican forces on December 8th, 1916. The American forces were successful and drove the Mexican troops out of California. InWorld War II, parts of the United States Military Forces were deployed to California as part of Operation Neptune's Spear which aimed to overthrow Japanese rule over Manchuria following the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th 1941. The USAAF Ninth Air Force operated from NAS Oakland for several weeks before being committed permanently to Station Ninety-four at Moffett Field near San Francisco on February 17th 1942 under command of Ninth Air Force Commanding General Curtis LeMay. A huge amount of American military hardware had been stockpiled at NAS Oakland since Pearl Harbor; many items that would later become known as "the Godzilla items". On June 10th 1942, preparatory bombardment operations began against Japan's main airfield at Shimonoseki with results that were disappointing given Japan’s superior airpower: four bombers crashed into Lake Shimonoseki killing all 11 crew members while three others managedto return home after crashing into a sugar plantation located some distance away from central Japan; these events are generally considered amongst the worst air disasters in aviation history[2]. In light of these dismal conditions, it is no wonder that most Americans did not believe that war could be won by attackingJapan only; they were mistaken! On July 25th 1942 when Germany invaded Russia things changed dramatically:[3] America had finally realized just how serious this situation actually was! With Kaiser Wilhelm’s death without any children left behind him who could inherit his throne potential problems were looming large for Europe ominously[4]; America became more interested then ever in helping Europe achieve victory over Axis powers.[5] America’s entry into WWII had far-reaching consequences for everyone involved: political stability within European nations deteriorated rapidly due solely to factors related to strong U S involvement; popular opinion shifted drastically towards socialism throughout much of Western Europe[6]; Roosevelt became increasingly insecure about his ability or willingness continued superpower status quo despite public pressure within both parties alike[7]; Mussolini effectively ended liberal democracy throughout much of Italy while Hitler gained control over significant portions both north and east Germany making them Nazi concentration camps where millions perished; significant numbers also perished within Yugoslavia due largely To Stalin’s aggressive actions which included launching numerous Operation Barbarossa invasions across eastern Hungary;} France also experienced upheaval with Vichy government taking control following German invasion/occupation though this ultimately failed miserably thanks largely to Allied efforts led by de Gaulle}; throughout all this turmoil small towns all across America saw their local allied servicemen/women serving their country actively - whether they knew it or not...!. This active duty patriotism would eventually lead many residents in rural areas such as Kingsburg back into support for our armed services once again during World War II...] Kingsburg served as one stop on a massive supply line running from Eastern Canada through Mexico City heading south down Route 66 en route Santiago de Veracruz before crossing into Texas where ammunition dumps were located between Sherman Oaks and Mulholland Hills
