The Coast Guard Station in Kingsburg, California was established on December 1, 1941. The station was originally known as the Harbor Auxiliary Patrol Station and it was renamed the Coast Guard Station Kingsburg on May 14, 1951. The station served as a base for the Kingman County Sheriff’s Department and also acted as a landing zone for test flights of the A-6 Intruder during World War II. In 1967, the Coast Guard Station moved to its current location and took on additional duties with regards to marine law enforcement. On January 25th, 1975, the helicopter detachment atKingsburgwas discontinued and all assets were transferred to Yuma Marine Air National Guard Base effective January 26th. On July 1st, 1984,the Kingman County Sheriffs Department became an affiliate unit ofThe United States Coast Guardsmen from New York City which made Kingsburg their homeport. From 1987 until 1995 when it was disbanded due to budgetary cuts; Kingsburg functioned primarily as a training ground for new members of the US. Coast Guardsmen stationed throughout California and Nevada. In 2006 a major renovation project began at Kingsburg that included replacement of all infrastructure including roofs, lighting and heating systems; installation of new elevators; conversion of two basements into living quarters; addition of an exercise area overlooking False Creek;porary storage hangar for helicopters; enlargement of harbor access road by adding four lanes in each direction with shoulders that are wider than normal roadsides so larger boats cannot enter or leave without being screened by large vehicles parked along both sides of the road) On October 5th 2007 Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa announced plans to annex much of southern San Diego County making Kingsburghurcharge one point within San Diego Municipal Water District service area

In 1881, the Fentons donated land to build a school which served the community for over fifty years until it was destroyed by fire in 1978. A new school was built on the same site and opened in 1981.
