The La Canada Flintridge Army Reserve unit was first organized on October 21, 1892. The unit was initially composed of two Companies A and B, with a total strength of twenty-two soldiers. On July 1, 1893, the company C was added to the organization. The regiment served in various actions during World War I, including trench warfare in Flanders and Belgium. After the war ended in 1919, the regiment was stationed at Fort Ord and Ft. Lewis before being mobilization for World War II on November 8th, 1941. The regiment served throughout the war and returned home on December 5th 1945. On January 1st 1951 all active duty military units were redesignated as Reserve Components by order of then President Harry S Truman which included the La Canada Flintridge Army Reserve unit which became th Regiment H & R Co LA CRF #1 (H&R Co LA) On March 14th 1959 when La Canada Flintridge AFB closed it's gates forever to both men and machines it left behind a long standing tradition of giving back to our community through events such as car shows open houses/ auctions etc... this past year we have focused onunit reunion so if you know of someone who served with us or is missing from our history please reach out

The La Canada Flintridge, California Army deployed gift history began in 1945. In that year, the United StatesArmy Strength and Fitness Center opened its doors to the community. The center was designed as a training ground for future military members. It was also used as a place for soldiers to decompress and regroup after deployments. In 1952, the La Canada Flintridge Army Depot was opened. This was an important step in the development of the army’s infrastructure in La Canada Flintridge. It allowed for more efficient communication between different parts of the army and made it easier for soldiers to get supplies and equipment needed for their job. In 1969, the La Canada Flintridge Army Ammunition Plant was built. This plant helped make ammunition available to our troops all over America. It also allowed us to keep our weapons safe and reliable during wartime.
In the year 1853, La Canada Flintridge was founded by John S. Flinn and his wife Catharine. The town was named after the Canadian River which flows through it. La Canada Flintridge was a small settlement with only a few hundred residents at its peak. However, over time, the town grew and prospered due to its location and its infrastructure including a post office, school, hospital, store, and farm. Today, La Canada Flintridge is an important community in the area with a population of over 1,000 people. It is also home to several businesses such as a grocery store, restaurant, doctor's office, Target shopping center, and more. In addition to its growing population and economy however; La Canada Flintridge has made significant contributions to both California and Arizona culture. The first thing that La Canada Flintridge brought to California was wine production. The Canadian River valley had been slash-and-burn farming for centuries before settlers arrived in what is now California. Wines were being brewed from grapes that were found in nature but it took some effort for man to improve on this process so that wine could be produced commercially. John Sutter (the founder of Sacramento) built his first vineyard in 1847 on Lick Creek near present day Fresno County while he still lived in Northern California. Unfortunately for Sutter though; not all of his crops yielded wineable fruit so he continued to search for new methods of grape production until he discovered winemaking techniques that worked well in California climate conditions. Eventually other pioneers followed Sutter into wine production including Ewing Kauffman who opened up one of the largest wineries in SouthernCalifornia (Kauffman Vineyards) while another pioneer (John Rolfe) developed new frozen green grape varieties which became popular among Californians during Prohibition era Another important contribution made by La Canada Flintridge was its role as an agricultural center during the Gold Rush years which led to increased demand for goods grown here such as crops like corn and beans as well as livestock like horses etc…. This period also saw a surgein immigration from Europe especially from Scotland where farmers had set up farms around San Francisco Bay beginning in 1849 Today’s residents of La Canada Flintridge are proud descendants of those who originally settled there – many have contributed materially or personally to their communities throughout their lives . There are numerous restaurants located throughout town providingciapportunities for locals and visitors alike for delicious American cuisine ; excellent educational opportunities available at local high schools ; two hospitals – one general hospital serving primarily acute care patients while the other specializesinwomen’s health services; numerous retail businesses including hardware stores/grocery stores/dentists/apartment complexes/all types of service providers essentialto life within normal family values; three churches: First Baptist Church with services offered daily starting at 6am sharp inside worship hall featuring stained glass windows depicting scenes from Bible stories along with periodic concerts featuring guest speakers from across North America La Canadia Flintbridge
