La Canada Flintridge, California is a small town in the Central Valley of California. It is located about an hour south of Fresno and two hours east of San Diego. The population was 1,521 at the 2010 census. La Canada Flintridge is part of the Fresno-Madera, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area. The community was founded in 1887 by Scottish immigrants, Fergus and Florence Thomson. They named their new settlement after their home country – La Canada in Scotland. The Thomson family continued to live here until 1951 when they moved to San Bernardino, California. In 1927, La Canada Flintridge became a city with its own government and mayoralty. At that time it had a population of 581 people (of which 328 were women). In 1959, La Canadia Flintridge joined the City of Fresno as an annexe to that city's limits. As part of this annexation process, the city annexed all but one block of land from what was then known as Mexican Flat Field within the boundaries of modern-day La Canadia Flintridge. This area now includes much of downtown Fresno and portions of both Eastgate Village and Westgate Village shopping districts as well as most or all of Addison Avenue between Browning Boulevard and Enterprise Road NW (now Orchard Road NE). Today'sLa Canadia Flintridge has experienced many changes over its history including growth in commercial sectors such as food processing; health care services; retail development; manufacturing; housing developments; and agricultural production since it became a city in 1959 - changes that are still ongoing today despite having oversight from successive City Councils since that time

Lacaona Flintridge was founded in 1847 by Don Miguel and Maria Flintridge. The first post office at La Canada Flintridge was established in 1848. In 1865, the town of La Canada Flintridge became a city. The population of La Canada Flintridge peaked at over 15,000 in 1910 but decreased to 10,000 by 1920. After reaching its low point, the population of La Canada Flintridge increased again until the early 1990s when it reached 30,000. Today, LaCanada Flintridge is a small community with a total population of around 20-30 residents. The history of Lacaona Flintridge can be traced back to 1847 when Don Miguel and Maria Flintidge came to California from Mexico City with their four children: Josefina (1846-1921), Pedro (1849-1924), Margarita (1851-1925) and Santiago (1854-1920). They soon found success as farmers in Rancho San Pablo near Stocktonabelle on the San Joaquin River. In 1865, they moved their farm to what is now LacaonaFlintridge after purchasing 6 acres from José Gomez de la Cruz for $4 per acre ($40 per sq ft). Unfortunately for them, this purchase did not sit well with others who had bought adjoining land since it would have given them easy access to water and natural resources that would have been valuable to those who owned more land. In 1870 however, Don Miguel purchased 8 acres adjacent to his original property from Elias Buelna for $10 per acre ($160 per sq ft). With this purchase he solidified his ownership of much of what is now LacaonaFlintrive because it then passed down through three generations: his son Fernando (1872-1964), daughter Olga Martinez de la Torre (brought up here 1927-) and her son Ramon Martinez de la Torre Jr.(brought up here 1966-) until it finally passed onto his grandson Francisco Martinez de la Torre Jr.(brought up here 1984-) today! From these beginnings we can see that there has always been some connection or affiliation between members of the family which has helped keep our community alive and thriving for over 150 years!
