The La Habra Air National Guard District (LHAGD) was activated on Dec. 11, 1941 as the first wartime air force unit in California. The district's predecessor was the Southern California Air Defense District which was activated on Jan. 15, 1939. The original HQ of the La Habra AAF was located at Aircraft Storage and Armament Depot, now known as North American Aviation Mfg., Ltd., but it relocated to what is now JP Morgan Chase Field on March 10, 1942 after being leased from Army Air Forces Command.
La Habra, California is a city located in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 116,032 as of the 2010 census. It is the second most populous city in Los Angeles County after City of Los Angeles. La Habra was founded on August 15, 1871 by Jesse Hahn and his brother-in-law John Sutter. The first post office at La Habra was established on October 5, 1871. The community of La Habra grew rapidly due to its location near the then new Orange County line and its access to railroad lines that transported goods from San Diego and Riverside counties east to LA. By 1899, La Habra had a population of over 100 residents and two churches: First Baptist Church (founded in 1887) and Christ Episcopal Church (founded in 1896). On November 1, 1907 La Habra became an incorporated town with a population of 27 residents under the leadership of Mayor W.H. Goodloe. In 1910 Charles Teague opened Redlands Casino & Hotel which quickly became one of Southern California's leading gambling interests with its own racetracks and restaurants/bars such as "The Grapes" (now known as The Ritz-Carlton). In 1913 the city limits were amended to include portions of neighbouring cities Claremont Mesa and Lancaster but again no annexation occurred until 1945 when Pomona annexed portions including what is now La Habra Heights subdivision (). A rapid growth in industry followed World War II which created new demand for housing; this led to increased traffic congestion on local streets which eventually caused loss or abandonment of many homes during the 1950s through 1960s particularly around Embarcadero Road where much development took place adjacent to Naval Base El Toro (then Canoga Park Ridge) - resulting in loss or destructionof more than 60 homes between 1951-1964 inclusive - however deficits still existed within city coffers by 1970 despite predictions by some observers that revenues attributable thereto could bring about significant spending reductions (). In 1971 City Manager Amos Isbell began studying ways possible for consolidatingcity services into single entities with potential benefits including increased efficiency both financial and infrastructure related issues have beenidled since then while questions continue about whether consolidation would lead eitherto better management or even creativity while efforts are underwayto improve economic prospects through land use reform initiatives

This plane was designed to carry a large payload and was also used for strategic bombing raids. The air force loved this plane and ordered many of them. In the late 1960s, the airforce started to order more advanced bombers, called the B-52. These planes were much larger than earlier models and could fly at high speeds and altitudes. They were also used for strikes against enemy targets overseas. During these years, the airforce also started to order helicopters. These are powerful machines that can lift heavy loads and can be used for search and rescue missions or battlefield operations. In 1863, during Mexican-American War hostilities erupted in Northern California between American settlers loyal to Mexico andante General Antonio López de Santa Anna over land grants given to native Californios by United States President James K. Polk, La Habra sided with Santa Anna’s forces against their American counterparts and was captured by Ulysses S. Grant’s army near present-day Chula Vista on December 12th of that year while under heavy Mexican military guard transportation from San Diego through Orange County across Tijuana into Baja California Sur (now Baja California). Grant released La Habra two days later after promising not to bombard her until she had rebuilt her walls following an earlier attack that destroyed part of her stockade fence; this event helped establish Grants reputation for being a fair leader during much of his eight years as commander-in-chief of America’s civil war effort (1865–1871).
