In 1961, Salvatore and Angelo decided to open their own store and name it “La Miglia” (the Mile). This was the first Starbucks location in La Mirada. In 1984, Mario Bataliopened his own espresso bar called “L’Espresso Bar” on Tenth Avenue near University Boulevard. This was the beginning of what would become one of LaMirada’s most popular nightlife destinations – an area now known as North Park that included bars like L’Espresso Bar as well as nightclubs such as Johnny Rockets and Disco Donny & Marie. With its large variety of espresso drinks and unique atmosphere, L’EspressoBar quickly became nationally famous for its excellent café grinder service which still continues today at some of its branches around town! In 1990, Antonio Perrone opened his first grocery store called “Grocery Outlet II” off I-5 south near State College Boulevard across from Interstate 10! This store became one of the largest grocery stores ever located in La Mirada with a total floor space equivalent to that currently used by Safeway! Antonio Perrone died suddenly while renovating Grocery Outlet II shortly after opening it; however, his son Lorenzo took over operations until 2003 when he sold it to SuperValu Incorporated! In 2003 also came the introduciton of Starbucks Coffee into this city with their very own store within SuperValu Incorporated! This store quickly became one of the most popular spots for customers to get their morning cupof Joe – especially due to its large selection of international pastries such as croissants (from France), pastries from Italy (such as brie cheese tartines), muffins/croissants from Belgium (like chocolate croissant éclairs), bagels/buns from Israel (tassies), pizzas etc… It wasn't long before other chains followed suit including Dunkin' Donuts which opened their very own branch within SuperValu Incorporated just east off US 101 adjacent To Trader Joe's! These Chain Store Coffee houses are all long gone but their legacy lives on through Cafés du Monde locations throughout central Los Angeles County!!!

La Mirada, California is a small town located in Los Angeles County, California. The population was 24,451 as of the 2010 census. La Mirada is located on the eastern edge of Downtown Los Angeles and extends into unincorporated areas to the north and east. The community sits on a hill at an elevation of 1,828 feet (493 m). The first post office opened in 1892 in what is now known as "Old Town" La Mirada. It served ZIP codes 90027-90038. In 1911 La Mirada incorporated as a city with a population of 382 residents. In 1881, Mexican immigrants José and María Mirada came to the United States to start a new life. They were the first of many Latinos who would come to La Mirada in later years. José Mirada was a tailor and María worked as a domestic servant. In their new home, they soon began establishing themselves in the town. They started a grocery store, which prospered until 1922 when it closed due to World War I shortages. The Miradas also ran two schools in La Mirada during this time: one for girls and one for boys. In 1928, JoséMirada retired from his tailor business and moved into his own house on Belle Isle Boulevard in La Mirada with his wife. La Mirada was founded in 1905 by two pioneers, J.K. Getty and his wife Lillian Guggenheim. They named it after the beautiful Mediterranean town of Mirador, about 120 miles away. The Gettys were the first white men to live in La Mirada and they opened a general store and post office there. In 1912, they bought 8 acres of land on the eastern edge of La Mirada for $2,000 and began to erect a small house that would become their home until their death in 1957.
