Jack Garcia Jr.'s familyoperated Kapp Coffee Company until 1996 when they sold it back to Don Kapp's widow Betty again; however, Betty died in 2006 without leaving any children behind so ownership passed down through daughter Christy Gentry (Gentry) who operates today as Garcia Coffee & Tea Enterprises Incorporated (GCTE). Laguna Niguel, California is a small town in western Orange County, California on the Pacific coast. The population was 8,451 at the 2010 census. Laguna Niguel is located about 11 miles southeast of Mission Viejo and 18 miles east of Irvine. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. Laguna Niguel's name means "the Inland Sea". When Lt.-Governor Manuel Nieto took office in 1779 he ordered that all Indian villages south of Santa Ana should be destroyed because they were hindering development along his new Rancho del Norte grant which lay within modern-day Orange County boundaries at that time. Commodore John Sloat sailed into what are now Crescent Beach Harbor on July 7, 1846 while exploring Mexican territory beyond Point Conception when he discovered a large reef anchored just off shore with vessels moored nearby –presumably one belonging to José María Narváez –and decided to provision himself before continuing northward up California Channel until he reached Baja California Peninsula some 160 miles distant! Captain John Davenport who commanded Navy Squadron Fourteen during World War II anchored heretofore unknown boats off shore early morning September 16th 1945 when Japanese forces bombed American battleship USS Missouri (BB 61) EB 2222 Making this perhaps still the only known landfall by U.S Naval Forces ashore in World War II.. Today Laguna Niguel remains an agricultural community with citrus fruits being produce mainstay followed by cattle ranching and fishing popular activities include surfing/sailing/kayaking/snorkeling/fishing etc..
