Gourmet Coffee History in Laguna Niguel, California When coffee first began to be cultivated in the region around Laguna Niguel (Laguna Beach), it was a rare and expensive commodity. Today, there are many coffee shops and cafes located throughout this beautiful community, each offers its own unique flavor of java. The first coffee shop in Laguna Niguel opened up in 1908 with J.B. Hennessey & Sons being the pioneer owners/operators. The early pioneers were rifle-carrying farmers who purchased their beans from small roasters like Peet's Coffee Company and Dutch Bros. At that time, all coffee was roasted near the farmer's place of production for maximum quality control and taste. During World War II, when demand for military rations skyrocketed, some LAGUNAN COFFEE SHOP OWNERS took advantage of the war crisis to open their businesses at a very low cost by importing whole bean beans direct from Indonesia or Africa. It wasn't until after the war that local roasters started marketing their coffee as Gourmet Coffee products which enjoyed high success among consumers due to its unique flavor profile and prestige within the industry$. In 1963, Mr. John Roach opened his first gourmet coffee store in downtown Laguna Niguel which quickly became one of the most popular tourist destinations in town due to its wide variety of wines and spirits on offer as well as its delicious cup of java! In 1984, JBS Coffee Corporation merged with two other companies forming what we know today as Starbucks Corporation! This merger allowed Starbucks Corporation to grow rapidly into one of America's leading caffeine providers! With such a long history behind us, it can be safely said that Gourmet Coffee is an integral part of our cultural heritage!

Laguna Niguel, California is a census-designated place (CDP) in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 8,651 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Los Angeles metropolitan area. The name "Laguna Niguel" comes from two Spanish words: " La Gorga" meaning "the Gulf" and "Niguel" meaning "end." So it means the gulf near La Gorga and also refers to a hill in that vicinity. Laguna Niguel was first settled by Mexicans who arrived there in 1839. The area around present-day Laguna Niguel became part of Rancho San Buenaventura Mexican land grant given to José Maria Garza on March 24, 1853 by Governor Juan Bautista Alvarado. In 1888, developer Leland Stanford bought some of Garza's land and began developing it into an agricultural community with citrus groves and other crops. The town grew quickly because of its good water supply and easy access to transportation. By 1912, Laguna Niguel had a post office, school, hotel and several businesses including a speakeasy. In 1922, millionaire oilman Henry Hirsch founded his own citrus empire with interests in oranges and other vegetables by driving trucks down then-rural roads to garage doors at hisranch headquarters in nearby Santa Ana Hills for shipping back upriveron account of high prices paid for fruit during World War I; this made him one of North America's largest fruit traders In 1965, when Interstate 5 was built through Orange County as part of the newly constructed U.S.-Mexico border system, much anti-immigrant sentiment sprang up throughout Southern California as people saw the new highway as another route for immigrants to cross into what they viewed as their homeland without proper documentation or permission from American authorities – something that continued even after Mexico achieved its independence from Spain on September 15 that year Laguna Niguel has been home to many celebrities over the years such as Clint Eastwood (who famously shot his last movie here), Danny DeVito (one half of Saturday Night Live fame), Barbra Streisand (whose daughter Malina was born here), Whitney Houston (whose mother Katherine moved from Cuba when she was just 4 months old), Russell Crowe (of Gladiator fame) and more According to the US Census Bureau's 2009 estimate,[1] there are now about 9% unauthorized immigrants living insidelaguna niguel limits according to 2008 data.[2] This number includes all those who were not citizens or permanent residents when they came within these boundaries; however they may have since become citizens or residents based on family ties or residency elsewhere within the United States

Laguna Niguel is a small town located in Imperial County, California. It is known for its seafood, wine, and golf courses. The area was originally inhabited by the Tongva people. In 1853, it was discovered by Ygnacio Vidal and his party of followers of Jesus Christ who were on their way to Mexico City. Vidal named the area Laguna Niguel after the Gulf of Mexico where he had seen shipswrecked in that region. In 1881, when Rancho San Miguel de la Laguna was granted to José María Orozco and wife Juana Maria Pacheco, they began to build a ranch there. They also started to develop the land that would become Laguna Niguel. When American troops arrived during World War II and burned down some homes in nearby Mission Viejo, Pacheco appealed to them for help rebuilding the community which they did. By 1945, Laguna Niguel had grown sufficiently so that it became an incorporated municipality with its own government. In 1990, it joined the city of La Habra as one of its original communities within Imperial County. The population of Lagunta at that time was around 10,000 people; by 2002 it had decreased to 7500 residents due to various economic problems including high unemployment rates and lack of jobs in rural areas near Laguna Niguel Airport which has been closed since 1996 because of budget cuts made by then-Governor Gray Davis.(1) The first mention of seafood being sold commercially in Laguna Niguel comes from Antonio Sanchez who visited the area in 1792 while on his way from Santa Barbara up the south coast..(2) At this time there were no commercial fishing activities taking place off shore so presumably seaweed or lobster could only be eaten fresh or cooked over an open fire using earth ovens which then produced oil results similar to today’s deep frying techniques used for many different foods like pizzas etc.). Although production dropped following Victory Loan DriveIn 1944 earthquake destroyed most businesses connectedto fishing industry however new owners quickly rebuilt Fishing Industry again thanksParticularlyToNational Broadcasting Companywhich purchased majorityinterestInLocal Radio Station KNBR which played major roleIn revived fishing tradition locally called “The Gullah StingRay Network”). After returning home following WWII most fishermen turned their attention backtothe sea rather then developing new businesses…..However several smaller groupsOf Entrepreneurs still ventured out Into unexplored waters subject To intense commercial pressureFrom larger companies…………..Today much Of Our SeafoodBasket Comes From Foreign Shrimpers WHOoperateOutOfForeign ports nearby Sailing Across International Waters To Deliver Our Fresh Catch To Your Door! The area now known as Laguna Niguel was first inhabited by the Ohlone people. In 1821, Mexican land grantee José Joaquin Crespo sold 3,000 acres of what is now Laguna Niguel to Francisco Pico. The area became part of the Rancho San Diego de Alcalá Mexicanland Grant in 1842. In 1851, Americanman Sylvester Graham bought 2,500 acres of the rancho from Pico for $10 per acre. He named it "Graham's Valley" in honor of his American friend and investor William Graham Whitney. The valley became a important center for sheep and cattle farming during the 19th century. A post office was established at Graham's Valley in 1865, and passenger trains arrived there for passengers to ride to Anza-Borrego Springs on horseback or bicycles. During World War II (1939-1945), many soldiers were stationed at Camp Pendleton located in the valley. They built an airfield here that was used until 1945 when it was closed due to lack of funding. In 1951, Donwood Brewing Company began beer production at a facility near present day Mission Boulevard and North Country Road in Graham's Valley. The company produced its first product, donuts, there in 1951
