Lake Elsinore is located in the western San Bernardino Mountains and is a reservoir used by the city of Los Angeles. The lake was created by damming up the Stanislaus River, which emptied into Yosemite National Park. The lake served as a water supply for Los Angeles from 1902 to 1932 and again from 1945 to 1990. Today, it is used mostly for fishing and pleasure boating. The City of Los Angeles formed a trust in 1912 to manage the waters of Lake Elsinore for the benefit of both citizens and businesses within its boundaries. It became an incorporated city in 1922. In 1933, work began on building a new dam at the southern end of the lake, which would create more storage space for water supplies in case of future natural disasters such as floods or earthquakes. The new dam was completed in 1936, providing much-needed relief toLA during times of drought or economic hardship. In 1951, voters approved Measure M (Lamont-Doherty Act) which designated part of Lake Elsinore as open space that could be enjoyed by all residents without charge. This allowed people who wanted to access this undeveloped area to do so without fear of being towed away by developers who had purchased land around the lake’s periphery. As part of this agreement with LA County, park rangers were appointed to keep watch over and monitor public useofthe park while private interests developed their properties around it without any input from county officials or park users themselves

Lake Elsinore is a large body of water located in the Inland Empire region of southeastern California. It is part of the San Joaquin River watershed and contains more than 62,000 acres (24,000 hectares) of water that flows through 8 counties. The lake was created by combining three smaller lakes, including Butte Creek and Antelope Lake. The name Elsinore comes from Spanish meaning "the hinterland." The first Europeans to visit the area were Frenchmen who traveled up the Sacramento River during France's 1769-1770 expedition under Jean-Baptiste Lully. They named the current site of Elsinore after Emperor Louis XIV's home country of Spain, which they discovered on their way downriver. In 1825, Captain John C. Frémont explored parts of what are now Riverside and Kern counties when he was searching for an east-west route to connect Santa Fe with points north. He named two small streams near present day Lake Elsinore – Antelope Creek and Butte Creek – after his horses that he had ridden along the route. In 1852, gold was found at Sutter's Mill in nearby Yuba County and quickly became a major industry in what is now Orange County. Mining operations continued until 1893, when a flood destroyed most of the gold mines in southern California and put an end to mining there for many years. In 1907, following World War I efforts to develop agriculture as a means to combat wartime shortages of foodstuffs such as rice, almonds and other nuts, citrus fruits began being grown in greater quantities around Los Angeles County because it could be transported easily by wagon road from Central Valley farms into Los Angeles City limits where processing plants were then established for pickling fruit products for human consumption or export markets such as Europe or Japan. Gold production resumed at Sutter’s Mill in 1922 but ceased completely by 1945 due to overmining techniques employed during those years. During World War II Area code 760 was added within Southern California due to concerns about possible Nazi activities within that region; however no such activity has ever been detected resulting in this area code still serving today without any imminent threats thereto!
