The Coast Guard was founded on April 15, 1915 in Lake Forest by Captain George H. Beach and First Lieutenant John S. MacDonald. The Coast Guard has been present in the Lake Forest area since that day. The first station established in the Lake Forest area was at 16th Street and California Avenue. In 1917, a new station was built at 160th Street and Illinois Avenue. In 1951, the Coast Guard Station was moved to its current location at 271st Street and Ontario Avenue in response to growing concerns about drug trafficking along the coast of Northern California. The Coast Guard Station has played an important role in keeping our community safe since it opened its doors. Lake Forest is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 381 at the 2010 census. It was founded in 1887 by John Fitch and W. H. Smith as part of the new town of Antioch. Antioch quickly outgrew Lake Forest and merged with nearby Walnut Creek to form what is now Oakland in 1901. In 1922, when Contra Costa County was created, Lake Forest became its administrative center. The city became an incorporated municipality on January 1, 1960. Lake Forest has been known for its fruits and vegetables, especially apples and oranges. The area's most famous attraction is the McIntyre Aquarium which opened in 1984 and contains more than 200 species of fish and animals from around the world including a white stork; it is also home to two dwarf pandas named Mei Ling and Yun Ling after their mother Xiang-Mei who donated them to the aquarium in 1997. The United States Coast Guard was founded on May 11, 1790. The first Coast Guard unit was organized in Rhode Island and was known as the “Providence Light”. On December 15, 1792, the first Coast Guard station was established at Cape Cod. The first Cutter were built in 1802 and were used to patrol the coastline. In 1809, a new type of cutter called a “Hood” was developed and became popularized by Captain George Washington. In 1814, the US Congress authorized the creation of a National Marine Militia to protect American coasts from piracy. On January 1, 1815, the National Marine Militia was renamed as the U.S. Coast Guard and it began its operations under charter from President James Kieft with headquarters at Norfolk Naval Station in Virginia. The first Chief of Staff for the U.S. Coast Guard was Rear Admiral Nathaniel Hawthorne who served from 1823 until his death in 1830. On July 5th 1920, Act No 2 of 1920 created an additional service branch within the U.S Coast Guards called Maritime Security Service (MSS). MSS assumed jurisdiction over all fishing vessels not registered with or exempt from excise laws while still enjoying privileges granted to other commercial vessels such as search and rescue missions; this change followed passage of another act that same year which exempted all merchant vessels registered with Great Britain (and their crews) from Customs duties when reaching American shores-an event known as “The Golden Age of Sail” In 1934-1935 MSS absorbed portions of Office of Naval Intelligence which had been created pursuant tosection 721(a)ofthe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1929 In 1938-1939 President Franklin D Roosevelt created the U S Navy Yard Auxiliary Force which included members of MSS Special Boat Section (SBs) personnel assigned to naval stations along America's coasts When World War II started on September 2nd 1939 U S coast guard forces were activated under command of Vice Admiral John R Quesada who reported directly to Chairman Of The Joint Chiefs General George C Marshall On October 26th 1940 Commodore W F Byrd led Task Group 382 consisting of three destroyers escort USS Constitution into Guantanamo Bay Cuba after orders were received during dark night hours indicating enemy submarines might be operating near our port Task Group 382 located no submarines but did discover two torpedo boats off shore which resulted in an engagement that lasted four days resulting in one destroyer sunk plus six crewmen killed including Ensign Harry Lewis who saved Commodore Byrd's ship HMS Eagle from being sunk

Lake Forest, California is a city in Orange County, California, United States. The population was 46,977 at the 2010 census. It is located on the eastern edge of Anaheim Hills and is adjacent to Disneyland. The city was named after a forested area in Northern California that was later drained by the Santa Ana River. The first Europeans to visit Lake Forest were Spanish missionaries in 1769 who founded Mission San Gabriel Arcangeli on what is now Legacy Drive. In 1821, George Hahn purchased 5 acres (2 ha) of land northeast of downtown from Juan Rodriguez and named it "Hahn Ranch". In 1848, Hahn sold his ranch to John Sutter for $15,000 and donated the land to the community for use as a public park. In 1853–54, Jotham Skinner built the largest adobe building ever erected in Southern California when he constructed the newspaper office and printing shop on North Main Street. In 1865–66, Captain David Capps built two large mills on Beaver Creek which became known as "the two Capps" because they produced twice as much flour as any other mill in Orange County at that time. A new townHall was completed in 1928 and dedicated by Mayor Harry Chandler with speeches by Franklin D. Roosevelt and Julius Caesar Hoover among others. The City Council Chambers were also dedicated that year along with Recreation Park Pavilion #1 which served as both City Hall Annexe (now called Honda Center) and City Pool until it closed down in 1984 due to budget cuts then reopened under a new name - Lake Forest Aquatics Centre before being renamed again - Honda Center in 2002 following their merger into Honda Motor Company's Anaheim branch headquarters
Lake Forest is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 26,953 as of the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The first permanent settler in what became Lake Forest was Nicholas de Carpo in 1849. The town began to form from areas near Crystal Springs and Norco early on, with each group claiming land around or adjacent to their respective springs for themselves. By 1860, much of the original growth had taken place within what is now Lake Forest High School District #2 boundaries. In 1871, John Sutter founded Sutter's Mill at present-day downtown Lake Forest and also purchased land from De Carpo for a mill he would build there. The mill quickly became one of Contra Costa County's leading economic engines during the late 1800s and into the early 1900s; it produced flour, feedstock for mills and other products such as bricks and lumber, among other items. In 1915, Mayor Harry Elkins appointed Julius Rosenwald as its first City Administrator after creating an elected body charged with carrying out mayoral policies without interference from City Hall. Rosenwald led the city through rapid expansion during his five years in office; by 1920 he had annexed portions of Hayward and Orinda Counties (now Fremont), creating what is now known as East Contra Costa County (the easternmost section including most of Livermore). At that point resident Julius Rosenwald III took control of Lakeshore Properties Holding Company which continued to grow until its acquisition by Blackstone Group LP in 2006; then-President Barack Obama visited Lakeshore shortly before his inauguration to witness its dramatic transformation into one of America's leading real estate firms under new management - later renamed Blackstone again following Obama's presidency). In 1926–27 Mayor Harry Elkins established a public works program which included construction of a new library/centers on Center Street east of Interstate 80 and North Main Street west of I-680; this project was completed followed by another library/center addition on Westlake Drive southwest of I-80 between Airport Boulevard and MacArthur Boulevard in 1931 – all three structures were designed by noted San Francisco architect Minoru Yamasaki & Partners LLP (later Yamasaki Associates Architects LLP). During World War II local production accelerated beyond capacity due to increased demand from military personnel occupying Northern California coastal towns such as Stockton; federal funds were used to finance large projects such as constructing schools, hospitals and housing tracts inland while local business owners enjoyed tax breaks resulting from wartime production increases. After hostilities ended these programs gradually reverted back towards traditional municipally funded services throughout the postwar period - an event which coincided with reestablishment (in 1949)of full city government control over all municipal functions save police service & fire protection etc., Resulting in major redevelopment including much more shopping malls opening up along Interstate 280 corridor throughout Contra Costa County interior since then although many neighborhoods have not seen significant commercial or residential development at all since then opting instead for slower gentrification processes often characterizing inner suburban areas outside urban cores across North America today where "inner suburbs" are typically home values above those found inside cities once they reached densities commonly associated with commuter employment centers outside metropolitan cores today despite experiencing little if any rural nor agricultural growth historically prior thereto
