Lake Forest, California is home to the world's third largest coffee company, Roastery & Café. The company was founded in 1984 by two former employees of Pacific Coffee in San Francisco. In 1991, they opened their first shop on University Avenue in Lake Forest. The shop moved to its current location on Glenridge Boulevard in 2002 and became a roastery and café. Today, Roastery & Café has over 30 stores across the United States and Canada. They roast over 100 different types of coffee beans and sell coffee brewing equipment, like espresso machines and brewers, as well as gift cards for their customers' convenience. Their goal is to provide their customers with the best possible cup of coffee every time they visit their stores. The history of small batch coffee in Lake Forest goes back many years ago. In 1984, two former employees of Pacific Coffee decided to start their own business trading roasted beans direct from individual farmers around the country. This early incarnation of Roastery & Café was known as "the Farmers' Store". Over time they grew larger but still operated out of their original location on University Ave., which remains an important part of the company's history today. In 1992 they opened up a second store on Glenridge Boulevard in Lake Forest which became one of the most popular locations within theRoastery&Café community. The store quickly became known for its wide variety of gourmet coffees including Arabica beans from Guatemala and Colombia; Robusta from Italy; Ethiopia; Kenya Bambusia; Guatemalan Hariri Beans; Kenyan Robusta; Ethiopian Yirgacheffe beans - all made fresh-to-order each day! Additionally, our team had access to a wide range of other products such as kitchen supplies, luggage storage, home goods etcetera that we could offer at very low prices during our busiest times! The success of this location led them to open up additional stores throughout North America throughout 2001-2005 inclusive! During those years we introduced some really unique concepts like our own Cinque Terre Blend (5 bean blend) roast which includes premiums like First Empire - a rich dark chocolate flavor profile that is Nicaraguan | Haitian | Dominican Republic | Brazilian | Peru | Honduran| Ecuadorian) This was truly something new at this point as most cafes only offered 3 or 4 different blends per session! We were able to bring these flavors together into one great product that sold extremely well! And finally during our 5th anniversary celebration we created a special blend called Barry Bonds Blends which includes both light roast Sudanese Tayeb Ateeq|West African Gashawi|Butterfly Yeoman's All Natural Kona Coffee)|Andes Condensed Powdery Bean|British Breakfast After experiencing incredible success with our Cinque Terre Blend (5 bean blend), we decided it was time for us to move away from small batch roasting altogether and focus exclusively on large scale production roasts instead!
