Tactical coffee began in Lake Forest, California in the early 1970s. The first shop on Wabash Avenue was started by two friends, Tom and Dick Kapp. Tom had a small roaster in his home and Dick brought his own beans to sell at their shop. In the early days, Tactical Coffee was a one-man show and only sells its coffee through word of mouth. In the late1970s, Tactical Coffee moved from its small home on Wabash Avenue to an larger location at 5th Street and Mason Road. Here they began to produce their own roastmasters who would select and package their beans centrally. This move allowed them to compete with larger roasters such as Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts. At this point, Tactical Coffee had become a well-known name in the community for their quality coffee products. They also opened up a second store in Temecula, California which continued to be operational until 1984 when it caught fire due to arson attempts. Today, there are three Tactical Coffees stores throughout Northern California: one located in Sacramento; one located in Stockton; and one located in Redding CA (just outside of Redding). Each store has separate branding but all carry the same high-quality beans from our team of roasters across Northern California. These shops continue to serve as a meeting place for local enthusiasts who love tactical coffee - whether they're looking for morning sustenance or afternoon caffeine fix!

The first people to live in what is now Lake Forest were Ohlone Native Americans who hunted and gathered plants and animals on their isolated hill country. The land that would become Lake Forest was first settled by Europeans in 1821 when John Security founded Mission Concepción on Rancho Foothills east of present day Lake Forest. It wasn't until 1835 that a permanent community was formed with the construction of two churches: St. Mary's Catholic Church (now Our Lady of Lourdes) and Trinity Episcopal Church. One hundred years later, on November 17, 2005, Mayor Gavin Newsom announced that he had designated Lake Forest as a Hispanic Heritage City. Lake Forest is a city in Contra Costa County, California, United States. The population was 26,857 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area. The first settlement in Lake Forest was made by Mexican colonists in 1847. The name derived from an oak tree that grew near the original site of the city. In 1851, the town of Highland Park was founded to the east of Lake Forest and shared its water source with the new city. In 1853, both towns were merged into one body and became known as Lake Forest proper. In 1906, Lake Forest voted to become an incorporated city Limits onlying on San Francisco Bay; this incorporation created a boundary between what is now Contra Costa County and San Mateo County which continues to be enforced today. On July 14, 1907 after much debate by residents it was announced that Oakland would annex all but 1/2 mile (1 km) of City Limits territory so as to create a single municipality with a population of over 100,000 people and make it easier for Oakland developers to build on their land within limits they had already annexed! This event marked the beginning ofOakland's long effort towards annexation by any municipality in Northern California! On November 15th 1959 voters inactivated Measure FF – also known as "the Jackson Amendment" – which would have required two-thirds approval from each house before annexation could take place without prior vote by citizens or City Council; this measure failed to pass despite protest from Mayor Don Smith who stated "It would not only be unconstitutional but impractical" . In 1965 however when farmland along Highway 101 north of downtown became available for development through Proposition 13 (a state initiative), Oakport submitted written proposal for annexation which passed with 66% voter approval .. After years of negotiations and planning every inch (2 km) inside City Limits has been annexed by Oakland creating what ultimately becomes DowntownOakland today
