The Coast Guard in Lancaster, California has been providing various services to the community for many years. The service began as a humble act of kindness, with just 10 men and women hired to protect the coastline. Today, there are over 400 Coast Guard personnel located in Lancaster County. They provide a wide range of services, including search and rescue, maritime security, law enforcement, and coastal protection. One of the most unique aspects of the Coast Guard is their gift history. The service was founded on Christmas Day 1914 by 11 men and women from Northampton who donated their time and skills to help protect the coastline. Today, it is great fun for residents in Lancaster County to see all that the Coast Guards have done for them over the years- from disaster relief during hurricanes Harvey and Irma (2018), to support during wildfires (2018), or even just an occasional visit from a cutter or boat! This year alone saw a number of events such as an event at Point Conception cliffs commemorating 100 years since volunteers first offered assistance during floodwaters in 1913; a chili cookoff at Soldiers & Sailors Park; and even a family day out at Pismo Beach! It's always amazing how much something like this can mean not only physically but emotionally too- feeling appreciated by those who work so hard on our behalf every day!

In 1962, Commodore James Soller presented four cases of wine (four bottles) valued at $128 together with threeDom Perignon glasses and six Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons for use by Marines stationed aboard amphibious transport dock ship USS America off Okinawa Island during World War II vintage supplies crisis period when prices for many items soared due to shortage caused by war-time hysteria among consumers across nation.( Japan-U .S.) Commodore Soller also donated US$5 per bottle towards establishment and maintenance cost for Marine receiving hospital ashore on Okinawa Island.( Japan-U .S.) During Christmas season 1969, Commodore Loren Easley gifted eight boxes filled with personal effects belonging to Assistant Chief Electrician Second Class Danny Ritchie( Xmas 1969) who lost his job as result of Accident on December 15th 1968 while attached tow truck No 1122 deck services starboard side engine compartment on replenishing oil tanker SS Maryland while enroute from Seattle Tacoma WA bound for San Francisco Bay Area.. AtDanny's request only one box should be opened at a time so all contents could be retained and is still being looked over today! One year later he again made an donation totaling 26 boxes including 5 large crates ( indicating contents would amount up to 1 ton or more) plus numerous small boxes containing personal effects belonging various positions held by Danny including surgeon general 1949-1953; commanding officer USS Oklahoma City 1944-1945; chief engineer 1948-1950; master electrician 1955-1957; assistant chief electrician 1942-1945; engineering sergeant 1943; third class petty officer 1941-. The gifts were sent through Departmental Envelope Program which transported packages overnight long distance from Washington D .C .. Each package contained about 12 inchx24 inch white paper tamper proof envelope with forwarding address stamped inside front cover.. Each individual item carried its own tracking number which allowed follow up inquiry should any problems arise especially since it appears most contents have yetto be examined! It is interesting that almost every single gift recipients name appears either near or within text block following photo taken inside front cover... A few exceptions are Captains Garland Copley(XXXX), Don Armstrong( XXXX), Phillip Jurasik(XXXX), George Wickenheiser( XXXX) but most names appear quite clearly within text block surrounding photo!!
