He also laid out streets which were numbered 1-9 starting from North La Brea Avenue near Waterfront Park towards Exposition Boulevard behind Adelphi University; 10th Street continued westward past College Ave., Cottonwood Drive continues northwest past Westernly Rd., Tenth St becomes 2nd St., and finally Exposition Blvd runs northeast to its present location just north of Pico Blvd.. At the time that lawrence was given this name it spanned only about half of what it does now - much of it is located within City limits or within adjacent neighborhoods such as Chinatown or Koreatown which continue down Kingsbury Road into South Pasadena instead of splitting off into their own neighborhood like Lawrence did. But even with only partial coverage today many areas including Point Loma and Reseda are included inLawndale proper while portions of Echo Park & Lynbrook overlap withLawndales Chinatown located just south of CenturyLink Field on Lankershim Blvd.. It wasn't until 1915 when Hollywood began expanding beyond its original boundaries "(and) becoming an increasingly urbanized community" that Lawndale had some sort of central government although there still remained various parcel holdings including parts around Universal Studios until 1943 when all these were annexed by Hollywood itself creating one large municipality known then as Hollywood Annexation District... And so we have our current form where most people know us simply by calling us "Los Angeles", but back before all those annexation changes things were more diffuse...
