Lemoore is a small town located in Kern County, California. The population was 6,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Salinas-Midland-Paso Robles Metropolitan Statistical Area. Lemoore is about an hour's drive from San Francisco and a day's drive from Los Angeles. The community began as a small ranching town in the early 1800s and became established as a resort center due to its location on the banks of the San Joaquin River. In 1925, Lemoore was renamed for French aviation pioneer Armand Lemoine and his family who owned much of what is now Lemoore Ranch. The area now includes parts of both rural and urban areas. Lemoore has two high schools - CPUE Lemoore (formerly known as West Valley) which serves students in grades 9 through 12, and Pajaro Valley High School which serves students in grades 7 through 10. There are also three elementary schools - Loomis Elementary School serving students in grades PK-2, Donahue Elementary School serving students in grades 3-6, and Mills Elementary School serving students in grades 1-4. A library with more than 3500 items has been built within the community limits with help from local businesses and citizens who have donated items including furniture, appliances, books/movies/tv shows etc., to help build up our collections over time! A variety of cultural events are held throughout the year at various venues around town like ArtPrizeFestivals or TasteOfLemoore where local restaurants offer food tastings that typically showcase some new dishes being developed by local chefs or farmers' markets offer fresh produce

Lemoore is a small town located in Sonoma County, California. The population was 5,814 at the 2010 census. It is part of the San Francisco Bay Area and has been called "the birthplace of Silicon Valley." Lemoore's beginnings date back to 1849 when William H. Lemoore founded the first post office in what is now Lemoore. In 1856, Lemoore became the county seat of Sonoma County and was designated as the location for a new courthouse. The cornerstone for this building was laid on July 4, 1860 by then-Governor John Fenton. The building served as both county courthouse and town hall until 1905 when it burned down. In 1887, J P Morgan established his banking empire in Northern California with holdings in Santa Clara and San Francisco counties. Morgan invested money in lumber companies that were responsible for cutting tree limbs close to his home in Livermore Falls, California; however, he lost much of this capital due to fire destruction caused by storms during 1886 and 1887. A group of local businessmen formed an investment company known as the Livermore National Bank which purchased Morgan's assets from him. This bank still exists today and operates out of Lemoore under new ownership. During World War II many residents left their homes because they were relocated to other towns withinSonomaCounty or rural areas withinMarin County because Of production quotas set forth by the U S government gas plants built near Simi Valley between 1942-1945- these plants produced more than enough natural gas for everyone but Orange COUNTY who received only about 20% of that supply
Lemoore was founded in 1859 by James W. Lemoore, a gold prospector and miner who also named the town after his father, John Lemoore. The town developed rapidly due to its location at the head of navigation on the Sacramento River and its access to resources such as coal, water, and grazing land. By 1865, LEMOORE had a population of around 100 people. In 1870, LEMOORE joined the newly created California Empire and became one of its most important cities. The city experienced rapid growth during the late 1800s and early 1900s due to its prominence as a commercial center for mining and agriculture in Northern California. In 1916, LEMOORE was renamed Oakland after nearbyOakland City Hall had been destroyed by fire. However, LEMOORE's rapid growth continued into the 21st century and it reached a peak population of over 200,000 in 2000.
